This book is SO funny. It is little pieces of her life (each a short chapter) and poems. She shares her home with her cats and the black hole in her basement that eats socks. The stories range from childhood memories (remembered by the lesser siblings as happening differently)to current life events. The name of the story comes from her friend and the friends bargain lawn chair.

I will admit that I read Miles To Go because she is the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus. I enjoy listening to a few of her songs (The Climb. I Miss You, Butterfly Fly Away, and her singing with her dad-Ready, Set Don't Go-I wish she would do more country songs)but I have been a fan of Billy's since "Achy Breaky Heart" and I watch the Hannah Montana show and have watched the movie because of Billy. Okay, back to Miley because that is what the book is about. Miles To Go was a good read. I would say that girls ages 9 to 16 would enjoy this book the most.She has been through a lot of issues we all have been through...like relationships, bullies,losing a loved one, new school. She writes little notes/thoughts in the margins.She has had a really good life and sooo lucky to be a star at such a young age and stay grounded/focused/responsible with the help of her parents of course. She is a good role model for young people. She has a good heart. She doesn't let all of the fame go to her head. I wish her dad would have a biography! I've learned a little more about him reading Miley's book but would like to know more. There I go talking about Billy again...LOL. I just can't get enough of him.

Very interesting story, Maria's life experience got her to believe love wasn't worth nor even real and when you learn about her life and how she got to be a prostitute somehow you understand why she thinks that way. But then Ralph comes along and things change, it didn't happen overnight but he's patient and that's what she needs. Even having experienced love and sex very differently as Maria, I still found myself agreeing with a couple of her ideas.

I hated the ending!!! This book kept me engaged the whole time and could not wait to see what would happen next. After reading this I feel like this might be how certain people (who will remain unamed...) got elected into office!!! That is so scary to see how money can really be maniputlated. It was a change of pace from my usual reads so I enjoyed the diversion... but it left me lacking in many regards.

I really had to struggle to force myself to finish this book. It starts off violent (as expected) and realistic but quickly becomes melodramatic and stereotypical. I normally enjoy Sebold's writing and expected so much more.
