I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars for this one but finally decided on 3 for 2 reasons. #1. - I had a hard time getting into it at the beginning and #2. Unlike other books from this author (Daughter of the Forest and Son of the Shadows, etc.) where I soaked in every detail and practically felt as if I were living in the story, in this one I found my self skipping through the details to get to the end. I did enjoy the story though and am excited to read the next books in the trilogy.

Fly boys was a great read. In fly boys the story revolves around eight men that become fly boys in world war II. seven of these eight were captured and the one that wasn't happened to be George W. Bush who later became the President of the United States. This story told the stories of the eight heroic men who played a huge part in the war. Fly boys were the ones that paved a path right through the war for the ground troops. These men did the impossible by taking off of a naval carrier in the middle of the ocean and bombing chi chi jima everyday for a few years. It is said chi chi jima was the heaviest bombed place during the whole war. This book really made me think about what happens during the war and what happens when men get captured and what happens to a man's mind when they run out of rations of certain things and the ideas they get in their minds to survive. I won't spoil what those things are and what the Japanese did top the prisoners they captured especially the fly boys that were captured. I would really suggest reading this book because of the history and ideas that took place during the war and some of the things that happened to why we have the certain technologies we have today.

Lt Daniel Leary and Signals Officer Adele Mundy are on one of their earliest adventures (2nd one?). The autocratic Cinnibar aristos excel as a part of Navy and learning to climb its own power structure.
This book was my book club selection for February, 2009. I really didn't want to read it, because I do not like circuses. But this book deals with the lives of the people who make up the circus: their wants, needs, loves and tribulations during the tumultuous depression years. An easy read, and a "don't want to put it down" plot, make for a great novel. I highly recommend it.

A good introductory book to systematic theology. Slightly Calvinistic in its approach, one should take some of the theology with a pinch of salt. This is the study text for 1st year theology students at Oak Hill Theological Seminary; if this is what they're reading as introductory text, then I am confident that the core materials will only edify God even more. Very good and concise summary of mainstream theological views of systematic Christian topics, from Jesus' humanity to the workings of salvation, to the meaning of our 'will/choice', to hell/heaven/angels/demons. Not a good book to look at if you're looking at deeper theology of course, but why are you looking at an introductory book if you want to really study those things in detail?

I just love these historical true crime books. Not only did this one have a good mystery, but it also shared a lot about the social rules of the day.

Declan got this from a very wise friend when he was a baby. Now six years later he still likes it. To quote "I like the part where you say goodnight nothing" "It makes me feel sleepy"
