I'm typically not a fan of Christian literature. The Chronicles of Narnia are an exception. The reason is that the Christian literature I've read has often proselytized too much and/or had characters react to situations unrealistically. But I knew this was Christian fiction going into it (how can you not from the title?), read some reviews, and downloaded it (for free) onto my Kindle. And I LIKED it. There were passages that made me laugh, some that made me cry, many that made me think, and more than a few that made me wish I could call my mom to discuss the book with her. So, yeah. I liked it. And I mean REALLY liked it. It gave a fresh perspective on one's search for Jesus, and I especially loved the depiction of the multiple types. I'd read this again and recommend it - and that's something I've never said about other Christian lit I've read.

Posdata: Te Amo, es de esos tipo de libros que te hacen reflexionar sobre la vida, sobre los momentos, pero sobretodo por el presente.

I love this series, but this should have been two books. From a librarian's perspective, these huge tomes cannot stand the use they get by numerous readers. I actually listened to it and there were 40 discs to the set. I had it so overdue that I was within four days of havning my name sent to a collection agency. Jamie and Clair should be wearing pedometers for all the traipsing around they do in this one.

The idea for the book is good. The writing is bad though. And I feel like the plot repeats itself. I do really like the plot though and I want to know what happens between Tally, Zane, and David. I do want to read the next book but I feel like its going to just be another long drawn out story that could've been written so much more concisely. I also realy hated the ending, but well see what happens...

I like Nicholson Baker's prose style. Nothing really happens in his books... the changes his characters go through don't seem based on their circumstances in any meaningful way... but I like reading them. They read quickly and are pleasant and contain interesting nuggets of insight. This one is about poetry. Nicholson Baker (or his surrogate) likes poetry with 4 beats to a line that rhymes. That about sums it up.
