After seeing Butch receive that completely unnecessary tongue-lashing from Morgana, I'm beginning to wonder if he should've just gone with Susanne. Poor emasculated fool. Is this some kind of unwritten rule for books with romantic plots in them? That the girl is always supposed to get royally pissed of at her man at some point? Even for something far beyond his control? *sigh* Geez, this is such a crock. I'm sorry Hugh Holton is dead, though. What a pity I should be introduced to this author through his final work.

This isn't a "burn through it" type of love story. The storyline is very well done. All of the characters are well portrayed and you really get a sense of whom those people would be in "real life." It is truly a story of bitter and sweet which made the ending melancholy and memorable for me. I'm giving this a solid recommendation. The character "Sheldon" and his role in the ending of the book was particularly satisfying for me. I also loved Ms. Beatt--the cook from the kitchen--I would have liked to know a bit more about her story, but from a writing standpoint it was really well done.

LOVE it! Tina Fey is hilarious, intelligent, strong, and witty. I loved her on SNL so I thought I'd like her book, but didn't expect it to be "laugh out loud" funny. As a working mother with a female child I related to much of her family life (the witch book would have hurt my feelings too!) Like much of comedy, her humor addresses many important issues in a way that just "talking about it" could never do. She discusses feminism, sexism, teat Nazi's and culture. Great read by a great Author.
