Nighttime is my time by Mary Higgens Clark is a suspensful novel wonderfully written to keep you guessing until the very end. Jean shows she has got what it takes to find much more than her longlost daughter, she finds a killer as well. But can she stop him before its to late? This is one of Mary Higgens Clark's best novels yet.
Normally I like to read the book before I watch the movie, I think when I first saw this movie I didn't know it was a book. In any case I decided to wait a long time after watching the film before reading the book, I even chose to not re-watch the film in order to give myself as much space between the movie and the book as I could. Now, having finally gotten enough time since reading the book, I decided it was time to read the book. My first reaction was that the book was nothing like the movie, but that isn't exactly the truth. While there was a lot that was different, the film is actually a pretty good adaptation of the novel.

It's like a train wreck!!! I LOVE this book! If you know or love someone who suffers from mental illness, this book can hit close to home. Loaned my copy out and never got it back. Of course.

Amy is living her life through all the hard things that have happened to her. She goes on a road trip and goes along with Roger. Throughout the trip she learns to come to life with the help of Roger and all the different things that she sees. Along the way she meets different kinds of people and has the opportunity to face all those things that she hasn't been able to. At the beginning of the book Amy is living by herself. She hasn't been able to fully recover from what happened to her father. She is forced to go on a road trip with Roger who was a family friend. She isn't happy about the idea but goes with it. She agrees to go on a little detour but it turns out to be longer than expected. This detour is what helped her face her fears and be able to talk about those things inside of her. I really felt like at the end of the book she was a different person in a very good way. Another big part of this book that I really loved was the whole road trip about it. They went to different states and I got to learn about places that I may have heard about but never thought I would actually learn something about it. After reading this book I definitely want to go across the country which would work perfectly since I'm on the west coast. Too bad it will have to wait until I can actually drive! =) I loved everything about this book! I'm glad I had the opportunity to read it and learn about different states that hadn't been of much interest to me before. Seeing Amy change was another thing I enjoyed reading about it. I would recommend this book to everyone since I loved it so much!

I just started reading this book, I got it when it just came out but I just started reading it now that I just got the newer one. I have read every one of the 41 books in the Magic Tree House series except for the 41st book I just got called "Moonlight on the Magic Flute." P.S: In the back of each new book it says the book coming next in the series, the book coming out in July 2009 is called "A Good Night For Ghosts"

I picked up the second book in the series because it was on sale, and the first few pages had the main character, Maisie, deftly turn a dinner date invitation into a casual lunch. Set in England after the Great War, when the country has recovered but its people still suffer from scars, this could be seen as a thoughtful period piece with an endearing heroine. Maisie is easy to like: competent but not forceful, compassionate but practical. She advertises herself as a "psychologist and investigator," and it's really the former role that gets highlighted, even as she's swept up into what might otherwise be a traditional murder mystery. She is inclined to see even villains as victims, and spends time probing people's pasts to discover what drives them -- not just to find out if theydunnit, but to truly understand them. Of course, eventually she has to take a long, hard look at herself. I was vaguely irritated by spiritual (not religious) overtones at times, but otherwise found this book quite engaging. I'll be looking for the rest of this series (particularly the first book).

Very clean. Well written and beautiful comic economy. Fun for graphic novel lovers and for the giants of early 20th century writers.

Although this advocates eating meat, and may seem to be a puffed up version of a low carb diet, I still enjoyed reading this. The success stories were interesting and sparked my interest in the benefits of taking coconut oil although I am always wary of a "miracle" food, especially when it is processed into a jar. Nevertheless, I suspect some people may have success with this diet.
