2005 Caldecott Medal Winner Black and white watercolor paintings. A kitten thinks that the first full moon she's ever seen is a bowl of milk in the sky and gets into all kinds of trouble trying to obtain it. Adorable kitten hijinks.

Another book that I have read many times. It may seem a bit childish, but I still really enjoy it.

I preface this review with the statement that I know this is urban fantasy fiction which requires one to suspend one's disbelief. However, that being said, I could not suspend my disbelief in this one, not because of the supernatural elements to the novel (fairies exist, blah blah blah) but it is the actions of the protagonist that I couldn't really believe. The protagonist is supposed to be an accessory loving, girly-girl concerned with her tan and nail polish who suddenly goes from quasi-cheerleader to badass. MacKayla (who goes by Mac) vacillates between being a scared little girl (okay, maybe not so little as she is supposed to be in her 20s) to vengeful warrior woman. I don't buy her character arc. I theoretically understand why she goes to Dublin but if she had such a strong relationship with her parents (as is implied) I don't think she would have gone. Additionally, I found the character of Jericho was beyond my belief as well. He goes from rough and brutish to suave and elegant to painting Mac’s nails for her. What the what? Mac goes from hating Jericho one minute, to being attracted to him the next, to wanting him to take care of her and protect her. There is clearly sexual tension there which if I were interested in the character I might want to see how their relationship develops. Speaking of sexual tension, granted, I fully admit that I have little to no knowledge about Faery lore, but a sex faery? Really? Come on. The interactions between Mac and the sex faery prince border on obscene and I found them truly laughable. The novel’s slightly smutty moments peppered into the plot seem like a device to try to distract from an otherwise drawn out and banal plot. I realize this is the first in a series, and a lot of set up is required but it feels like nothing really happens. The reader finds out what brought Mac to Dublin, what she “is”, and by the end she has a clue to go on but I was left feeling that the plot was too straightforward. Perhaps I have a myopic view of the series and it gets far more complicated; maybe it gets better, but I’m unsure if I want to continue the journey.

Read with my daughter for a book club and really enjoyed the theme, charachters, and all their relationships with each other.

Good time pass reading and not much more. Connecting disparate pieces of datasets and building a story is nice idea for the economists per se and that's about it. The story on crime droppage due to abortion judgement in Roe v/s Wade case was an interesting connection.

i think this was a good book that people should read. it was really good. it was also kind of sad because the world these people lnve in (on the island of course) is really different. they can only go on half of the island because the other half has people who have had the minds erased and dont really know who they are.

Is there a match in the world to For my lover returning to his wife? I don't think so.... and then To my Little girl, My Stringbean The motherly advice that "Dear Linda, Women are born twice" Her words are perfect in so many ways. There are poems that go too far for my to enjoy them - I like some darkness in life, but I've been through my melodramatic stage already...so I don't need it quite as much.... that aside - read Transformations in its entirety - the reveal it gives to fairytales is a fabulous peel of veneer and disturbing use of imagination!!

I think this play was very exciting, yet sad.It definitely pulled me in and I really liked it a lot. It was about two young lovers who struggle to be together because of family fueds. It was a major tragedy and was very different from what i thought it would have been. The ending really was very unexpected before reading the play. It definitely met my expectations and was better than i ever thought. My favorite part would probably been when Mercutio was being silly or the part when Romeo and Juliet died. I read this book with my class in literature and am very glad i did.

I have to be honest. The reason I read this book is because in the movie High Fidelity John Cusack's character says, "I have to say my all time favorite book is Johnny Cash's autobiography, Cash, by Johnny Cash." I have repeated that sentence anytime asks me what my favorite book is, but it's not really true. While Johnny Cash's autobiography, Cash, by Johnny Cash is not my favorite book, it is still an enjoyable read. It gets really churchy towards the end, though, so fair warning.
