Did not LOVE Loving Frank. I'm an admirer of FLW and enjoyed that aspect of the book, but found the ending to be abrupt, several parts to be over-detailed when not relevant or necessary, and in a lot of places just boreing. I wish I had liked it more based on all the hype I had heard, but just didn't do it for me.

SO HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! OMGODNESS!! Wow. This is definitely going to be one of my FAVORITE reads of the year I can feel it. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. I don't think I have a complaint about anything, except for the fact that it ended!! I LOVE Will. He had so many swoon-worthy quotes, I kept squealing with delight! I loved the angel concept and I loved the characters. I also LOVED Ellie as the heroine, she was so strong and amazing, I routed for her the whole time. And that big bomb they dropped on the ship, I was so EXCITED! Books like this, that just blow my mind, for some reason, I just can never write good reviews for, I just feel I will never do them just. All I have to say is: READ THIS BOOK!! And if that doesn't work: take a look at all of my overenthusiastic caps! And if nothing else after that just read this quote from Will: "Ellie you need to understand," he said softly. "I exist only to serve you and fight by your side. Whether that fighting is to preserve your life or to make sure you smile, that is what I am built to do. You're all I have, and I will watch over you forever." OHMYGOODNESS!! I need some more Will RIGHT NOW! <3<3<3 It will be a very long time before I forget this book. 5 gazillion stars.

Mat used to work for a Tabloid TV Show but grew sick of it. He a had met a woman named Sandi, and they married but shortly after they were divorced. Sandi decided to keep his last name and come to find out he now has two daughters, Lucy and Button. Sandi passes away in a auto accident with Buttons real father. Since Mat is on both their birth certificates he needs to figure this all out and fast. Cornelia Case is the widow of President Dennis Case. The White House still wants her to continue her duty as First Lady and help the Vice President out. And that is something she does not want to do. She keeps it up as long as she can , but now its time to call it quits. Cornelia is tired of being in the public and she decides its time for a break, literally. Breaking out the White House couldn't be so easy, could it? Cornelia meets Mat at a truck stop after her rental care is stolen from under her nose and the cash she needed. Let the adventure begin. How long is the First Lady able to evade the Secret Service? I liked the story, but overall I just felt like I was missing something. The characters were the strongest when they were together, then they were alone. Cornelia was smart, wise, and goodhearted. Mat on the other hand was macho, softhearted at times, and not interested in being a family man. Lucy was the teenager from hell, but who wouldn't be after everything she went through. Button was glue to them which I thought was super sweet due neither of them are her real parents. I was glad when Lucy comes around. The ending was a bit of a surprise, but overall this book is sweet, charming, and funny. Susan Elizabeth Phillips brings you not only into the White House, but shows you forever does come true.

This is #10 William Monk Novel. I've read about 20 Anne Perry books. Great Fun. This one is just hanging out on my home book shelf, waiting for that rainy day.

Although it may not be talked about, spanking is a part of erotic play for many. Some like it light and playful while others want deep and hard that leaves the skin burning and the body trembling. For some it’s simply a fantasy that has yet to be acted out while others must have it in order to fully enjoy sex. Whether giving or receiving, spanking incorporates power and control in the connection between two people. These twenty stories explore the endless possibilities of spanking from many different angles. “A Thousand Words” by Donna George Storey ~ A man fantasizes about how to teach his naughty girlfriend a lesson after she leaves a pink envelope inside his suitcase. “The Hardest Part” by Alison Tyler ~ The anticipation, the fear, the yearning for a spanking that’s duly deserved thanks to naughty behavior and the changes when he finally begins. “A Firm Understanding” by Elizabeth Coldwell ~ A wife convinces her husband to act out her favorite fantasy by being punished by a male dominant while she watches. “Prime Time” by Teresa Noelle Roberts ~ A man ups the stakes when his lover has gotten too good at counting the smacks to her ass and uses prime numbers to keep her alert. “Ass Worship” by Jerry Arthur ~ A young man meets a woman at a friend’s art show who shows him just what it means to have one’s ass ‘worshipped.’ “The Purple Balloon” by Tess Danesi ~ Kate takes a break from her life to visit Mistress Madeline who helps her act out a secret fantasy. “Sorority Sister” by Dominique Dunbar ~ A run-in with a sorority sister reminds Lauren of her first experience with spanking. “Days” by Simon Sheppard ~ A man thanks Howard for the few days they spent together. “Bossy” by Sommer Marsden ~ A woman sees a man looking at spanking pictures on a computer at the library and yearns to know more about him. “Oscar and Holly” by Bill Kte’pi ~ Oscar gives young Holly what she needs when he discovers her with a man in his house. “Lonnie’s Licks” by Tenille Brown ~ Lonnie uses a unique method of aversion therapy to try to cure Stacey’s addiction to his dick. “The Swinging Spankers Club” by Stan Kent ~ A man accidentally discovers a way to add a new spark to the swinging lifestyle that has become boring. “Reenactment” by Zille Defeu ~ When they become part of a medieval reenactment group, two women act out a particularly rough ‘knight and maiden’ fantasy. “Confessor” by Craig J. Sorensen ~ A CEO has a Jayne at home who knows just what to do to get him to confess his transgressions. “The Spanking Machine” by Rachel Kramer Bussel ~ When a woman is at a loss to find a man who will commit to what she needs, she purchases a machine that can keep up with her. “Stuffing the Ballot Box” by Andrea Dale ~ A US Senate candidate relies on her husband to keep her relaxed by giving him total control in the bedroom. “Tease for Two” by Maddy Stuart ~ A woman and her good friend decide to take turns spanking her boyfriend, until the friend decides she needs a turn as well. “I’m Going to Grab Your Hair” by N.T. Morley ~ A man relays, in delicious detail, just how he plans to deal with his naughty girl. “Flaming” by Jean Roberta ~ Matthew gets sucked into helping Lorne who he’s been lusting after from afar, and a few spanks help get Matthew into character. “Helping Those in Need” by Gwen Masters ~ While helping out at the church to feed those in need, Chelsea ends up getting what she needs most from the new youth leader Andy. "Bottoms Up" is an enticing collection of stories which all involve spanking. Some focus on the one doing the spanking, while many more are from the perspective of the one being spanked. There is a welcome range of trying out for the first time, admitting to fantasies that have never before been acted out, taking play to a new level, and glimpses of relationships where spanking plays a large role in a D/s lifestyle. The stories are all well written and the different approach each author takes to incorporating the theme is quite intriguing. At no time did the stories feel repetitious, which holds the reader’s attention and makes reading that much more enjoyable. Several stories in this anthology stood out for me. Alison Tyler’s “The Hardest Part” is an exceptional telling from a sub’s point of view of the anticipation of waiting for a spanking that is deserved and the strength it takes to give control to another completely. Tyler taps into the emotions beautifully and the result is a captivating story. Sommer Marsden’s “Bossy” is fun and naughty while a women who is normally the one on the receiving end takes a turn as the spanker. It’s quite a ride as she taps into her dominant side and makes for an enticing story. “Reenactment” by Zille Defeu is one of my favorite tales with two women who like it rough and take things to a new level when acting out a medieval fantasy. It’s rough and a wild ride and yet it’s clear there is a strong bond between the women. Andrea Dale’s “Stuffing the Ballot Box” explores the dichotomy of a woman in complete control in her career who willingly gives that control over to her husband in the bedroom. This lends a balance to the woman’s life and their scene together is highly erotic. Finally, “Helping Those in Need” by Gwen Masters features a “nice” woman who has some naughty desires, and a youth leader who is willing to help her satisfy those needs. This was an intensely erotic story, with two characters who throw caution to the wind and is a story that is not easily forgotten. From a GLBT standpoint, readers should be aware that the majority of these stories feature heterosexual couples. That makes them no less erotic and steamy, but those looking to specifically read about gay and lesbian characters and spanking should be warned. A few stories feature contact between two men or two women, although not in a sexual way, including “A Firm Understanding,” “The Purple Balloon,” “Sorority Sister,” and “Tease for Two.” Of the twenty stories, three feature gay or lesbian characters: “Days,” “Reenactment,” and “Flaming.” From my perspective, “Reenactment” makes this anthology worth buying, and though not GLBT in focus, the rest of the stories are enjoyable and explore many facets of spanking. Overall this is a stimulating collection of stories that explore the eroticism of spanking in a variety of ways that will be sure to satisfy any reader.

** spoiler alert ** This was my first Jodi Picoult book. I enjoy her style of writing but I really got frustrated with the character Katie. She had a hard time expressing how she felt and held everything to herself. I was surprised at the ending and disappointed a bit too. If Sarah was so committed to the Amish way of life; I don't see how she could have done that to her daughter's baby. Throughout the book it was stressed how the Amish people just don't lie and murder. Then in the end; it was the mother who almost let her daughter go to prison for what she did. Disappointing.

This is a great coming on age novel for middle grade readers, and it is most enjoyable. The novel is illustrated, which helps bring the story to life right on the page. Yet, the illustrations do not overpower the imagination of the reader; they are tastefully done and evenly interspersed. Any MG readers interested in the knights of the realm, or historical mythology in general, will enjoy this story. The storyline flows easily and each chapter offers humorous insight and action, all leading up to the suspenseful conclusion. Although this novel is the third in a series, it stands alone and does not need any prior background knowledge—the novel explains itself. Sir Gawain is a respectable knight who learns the value of courtesy through the events within the story, and this overarching theme is one our children can never hear too much. I highly recommend this novel for younger children as it is fast paced, interesting, easy to read, and easy to understand... To see my full review: http://bookvacations.wordpress.com/20...

Elaine Dundy knows how to capture a scene. The parts of the book where something is actually happening work like gangbusters. The dialogue is clever but realistic. The details are pertinent but also hilarious. Most of the first chapter is a really long scene between the narrator and her new crush as they chat at a Paris café. If you are anything like me, this scene will pull you in. And you’ll assume that the rest of the book will continue in this fashion. But the book has other plans. Every so often there will be another great scene, well-told, but most of the time you’ll find yourself skipping over large paragraphs of filler material and plot twists that seem kind of pointless. This will depress you because the narrator’s dry sense-of-humor had such promise early on. But now that you know the story isn’t going anywhere, what’s the point? This book has a pseudo-memoir feel to it, and when memoirs have structural problems, you can’t really blame them because, hey, that’s life. Life is messy. Novels shouldn’t be.
