Samir S ssjasim — ** spoiler alert ** SPOILERS IN REVIEW: While I'm glad that Kim Harrison FINALLY solved the unresolved murder of Kistin from TWO BOOKS AGO, I'm disappointed in how it was wrapped up. Both this story and the mystery with the Banshee presented in this book were very well woven throughout the novel until the ending where they just fell flat. BOTH plots seemed to just magically resolve themselves and they felt VERY anti-climactic. I'm not impressed and becoming less happy with this series as it progresses. Kim is an excellent writer with some great instincts for character development, etc. BUT then she pulls crappy stunts the last couple of books in the series and now this anti-climactic resolution to a major character death? REALLY? And don't get me started on how her short story became incorporated into this novel. Initially I thought it was a neat tie-in, but in the end became frustrated that she doesn't know how to write a short story that is left alone outside of the context of the novels. They always have to become part of the main plots of the series for some reason. This would be why I gave it 3 stars. It's good, but ... I'm beginning to wonder if this is a series I'll keep up with for much longer.

Annisa Zakira filleeey — I really like this author's writing. He uses words nicely, and I liked the history embedded in the story--I felt like he laid out the history of Spain more concisely than anything I studied in college. (Can I still remember college??) But the ending was weak and so overall I was disapointed with the story. Too bad

Tina Mailhot-roberge vervex — It's weird, but during this book I suffered through various feelings of like and dislike. When I started reading it, I actually liked it quite a lot, but then it sort of seemed to drag on. The inside flap of The Last Juror states that it's about how Danny Padgitt murdered a woman and while he was on the stand, threatened to harm the jury if they convicted him. But really only about the first 50 pages and the last 100 pages actually dealt with the trial and Padgitt's threat. My main gripe with this is that it deviated so much from what it seemed the actual book was about. When I started reading this, I thought that it would be suspenseful with this sort of agonizing tension starting from the trial to Danny Padgitt's threat to the picking of the jurors one by one, but it wasn't like that. Another thing that annoyed me was the actual ending. It seemed very anticlimatic and it seemed like it came out of left field. I found myself thinking "That's very, very implausible" and also "How would no one know?." The ending was also very abrupt. I guess some of the book was interesting and I did care about some of the characters. It was also nice how he had characters from A Time To Kill appear briefly in The Last Juror. Although, I really didn't think Lucien Wilbanks was such a bastard in A Time to Kill, but I thoroughly disliked him in this one. I've only read one other Grisham book and that was A Time To Kill. That one was fabulous. This one...not so much. I'm still planning on picking up some of his other books (especially since I own like six others) and am hoping the brilliance that was behind A Time to Kill, shines brighter on one of the others.

Lucia Petrucci luciapetrucci — Volume 1 & 2!

David Preston _ave_owshed — Holy crap. I did not think I would like this book all that much, but I LOVED it! I could not put it down for anything! However, this was almost exactly like the movie Keith... *Spoilers* Okay, so, how this is just like Keith: The main female character is the popular blonde yet goody-good. She has a boyfriend (although in Keith she is dating a Latino guy first haha). She and Keith, like Brittany and Alex, are assigned as Chemistry partners. Both Alex and Keith are rebellious, the difference is Alex is a gangbanger and Keith has cancer. Towards the end of both, the couples "make love", and Keith, just like Alex, ends up telling her it meant nothing to him, etc. Despite being alarmingly alike, both stories are unique in their way and are both tearjerkers (I probably cried more for Keith though, since at least Alex and Brittany got a happy ending.) I thought the cussing in every sentence in this book was VERY unnecessary, but all-in-all it was great and I would thoroughly recommend it to fans of teen romance. Alex is smoking hott!

Bridget Mcquillan bammcq — This is a delightful tale of a little pig that doesn't like to get dirty. His family are a bunch of messy oinkers and Otis just doesn't fit in. However, he stays true to who he is and finds friendship in the place he would least expect it.
