Venkat Rao venkat_rao — This book was completely mediocre. I was unable to invest in any of the characters - I just really didn't care what happened to any of them. I thought the literary device of interspersing (what essentially amount to short stories) in between the main chapters of the book was odd and more than a little self-indulgent on the writer's part- I didn't think they added anything to the quality or depth of the novel. Didn't really care for this one - would not recommend unless you have no other options.

Guillaume Laurens guillaumel5d7c — I can't wait for the next one, this almost made sense of WWI. Loved the characters and can't wait to find out what happens to them.

Joselito Miguel _oselito_amir — Agonizingly patronizing, insultingly obvious, insufferably redundant, the writing is banal, and the style is a terrific failure of an attempt to fableize a badly written self-help book. The popularity of this book is a shockingly disturbing testament to the majority's mindless acceptance of just about everything, a condition that has become the bane of today's society.

Sang Han threepeasoup — One very creative picture book. My favorite, "I explained it loud and clear. What part of "meow" don't you understand?

Will Townsend wtsnz — One of my favorite books of all time is Electric Kool-Aid, so I bought this one the second it hit the bookstores. Not sure if 1 star is fair, because I never finished the book. The fact that it is 1 of the few books I have left unfinished led to the one star. The thought of this book makes me a bit angry! I really wanted it to be good.

Rafael Lopez rafaelgainzalopez — Lily & Rule are engaged and sort of planning their wedding. Sort of, cause Lily keeps putting off her mother, who is trying to organise it. Cullen & Cynna's Baby Party at Clanhome is a joyous occasion until someone almost kills Cullen, right in front of everyone. But everyone has a different story. The baddie turns out to be a very old enemy of Grandmother Yu's, The Chimei and her Sorcerer. The Chimei & the Dragons have a Treaty going back to the Great War, 3 thousand years ago. So Sam can't do anything, and neither can Grandmother, and even Lily is somewhat restrained by the geas. Cullen was attacked first because he is a threat to the Chimei's vengeance against Grandmother. But he is only the first in the Chimei's plans. Isen, Rule's father, and Rho of the Nikolai pack declares War against the Chimei and the battle begins. This is such a great story arc. Lily & Rule seem to grow a little in each book and the world building is great.

Dee Sadhwani dees123 — Read it because of the movie, and I guess I'm glad I did. No question it's intense. But I can't help feeling that Palahniuk seems to be trying to prove to his readers that he's edgy.
