Jie Yang jessieyange8e4 — This book has some of the worst dialogue-as-exposition I have ever read. "Why yes Sophie, you're right, and did you know that..." bleh. The lines between fact and fiction aren't clear, and there is some bogus information in the "fact" category- things that are close to true, but which have been refuted by multiple scholars. But, in Dan Brown's research he chose to include "facts" from the papers that have been proven wrong over and over. UNfortunately, many normal folks can't make the distinction and treat his book as the New York Times of Bible code/secret messages, when in reality it's more along the lines of The National Enquirer or worse......

Melawan Arus dimas_mojo8364 — My review of Winging It by Deborah Cooke is based on a paperback copy of the book that I purchased for myself. The following review is my honest opinion of the work. For those of you that remember Flying Blind was one of the very first dragon books that I had ever read, Firelight by Sophie Jordan being the first. I fell hard for the characters, plot, and history captured within Flying Blind and as a result had been looking forward to reading Winging It ever since. One of my favorite aspects of this book is that despite Zoe being Pyr you get to see her human side come out a great deal, yes she has stuff to deal with as a dragon but she also has trouble with dealing with the typical problems of a sixteen year old girl. I mean, isn't that a tricky enough time period for a girl without throwing in the responsibilities of mastering the powers of the wyvern? Oh yeah. Zoe has got a lot on her plate in this one as she is thrust back into her human life, dealing with school day to day and trying to maintain her secret...particularily from her best friend. I still love the character of Zoe. In Winging It you get the same amazing Zoe, only this time she's back with a vengeance. She's grown up quite a bit between the two books and is beginning to understand that with great power comes great responsibility [Eek! My inner geek has escaped!]. As more of her wyvern powers reveal themselves the more that Zoe realizes what comes up with them, that she has a duty first and foremost to the rest of the Pyr. You see this revealed through the way that Zoe would gladly sacrifice herself for any of her friends, and a lot of other people besides, she wants to be the one to put herself in danger and save everyone from a similar fate. I'm giving Winging It by Deborah Cooke a four out of five stars review. My only regret is I could have done with a lot more Jared. Guess we'll just have to see what Deborah Cooke has in store for us in the third book of the Dragon Diaries series, Blazing the Trail.

Paul Teall pteall — Now I would have loved this book... but I didn't feel it, I merely read it. It failed to make me "unnumb" to this subject...

Nghi Do jaymeenghido — I just loved this book's orginality. It was so much fun to read I actually think I could re-read it and get even more from it.(Something I never do). A huge "wow" for a first time novelist. Witty, clever, mysterious, intriging, and at times laugh out loud funny. Blue is a character I won't soon forget.
