Gianella G gianegomezc — There will be times when you will have that student that isn't interested in books. This story would be perfect to read to a child so that he/she can see the power of reading books and how you can read books that interest you. This book is so awesome because it helps a child who doesn't like to read become excited about reading.

Tomasz Siepsiak chileanempire — Overall the series was great -- though I have to admit I started to lose a bit of interest in the third book. Probably more to do with my short attention span than the general goodness of the book.

Tom Philibeck _om_hilibeck — I've had a fascination for the Tudors and the six wives of Henry VIII at least since I visited England at fourteen-years-old and picked up this thin booklet on each complete with their portraits. As a result, I've read plenty of books, fiction and non-fiction on the Tudors and Henry and his wives. This is my favorite historical novel based on those figures, and so much better (oh so infinitely better as history and fiction) than the execrable The Other Boleyn Girl. I tend to the view of Henry as monster. It's hard not to. This is the man that beheaded two of his commoner queens and divorced two royal ones--and came close to arresting and beheading his last queen. This portrait of Henry, though still historical and not blind to Henry's faults, is nevertheless tremendously sympathetic to him and yet works for me. Certainly that the story is told in his own voice helps gain our sympathy. But so do the notes by Will Sommers, who loved and understood him perhaps better than he did himself, and could speak to his self-delusion in an irreverent but compassionate way.

Phoebe Sinnassamy _hoebe01 — The blurb on the book is a great summary: "A pinch of James Bond . . . a handful of humor . . . great escapist fun." The Carrie Mae Foundation philosophy is to improve the lives of women everywhere through education, medical, and financial assistance, which is financed by selling affordable, quality cosmetics. But the Foundation also has a secret arm of trained operatives who literally fight for the rights of women everywhere. Redhead Nikki Lanier, who is a horrible cosmetic saleswomen, seems like a good fit for the spy activities given her blackbelt training and linguistics background. So she is sent to the training camp in California and then on assignment to try to rescue a woman who has been kidnapped in Thailand. Like the blurb says--lots of fun humor, believable spy adventure and action with spy tools masquerading as cosmetics, and just fun escapist reading. You'll enjoy it.

Gune Dissa dmg_dis — This book is about how the connectedness of the internet will change the way businesses interact with their markets. Reading it almost ten years after its inception, it seems cliche and obvious, but there are a lot of good insights into the power of online conversation. Much of it is about the importance of sincerity, natural voice, and openness when dealing with customers, since they are more and more able to discuss the bullshit that PR departments sell as communication. As a person not particularly tied to business, it was interesting to read a passionate exaltation of the power of the customer, i.e. me. On top of the affirmative content, the book is exuberantly written, rough and bursting with enthusiasm like a child with a secret.
