Seth Greenblatt _r_ — I picked this up at a book fair in seventh grade, which is the perfect time to stumble across the Hitchhiker trilogy (yes, trilogy; I deny the last 2 or three books), and the next week I was kicked out of independent reading because I was laughing so loud that I disturbed the others. I don't like a lot of wacky humour books (I can't stand "Good Omens"), but Douglas Adams has the perfect blend of over-the-top craziness and dead-pan ("the space-ships hung in the air exactly the way that bricks don't"). I spent the next four years driving my English teachers nuts by trying to write like him.

Kun Tamás kuntamaspal — Who would've thought that a little book about a game of baseball, and the scouting side of it would become such a controversial piece for so many people in the game. This is more than just a book about a GM, Billy Beane, and the statistical analysis that he and others use though, for some reason angering so many people around the game. It's about adjusting and challenging the norms of a society, in this case baseball. Michael Lewis, while a little over the top in some areas, puts together a book in Moneyball that is a great read for not only baseball, the Oakland Athletics, or Billy Beane fans but for those thirsting for something new to the analytical side of baseball.

Abby Wichman awichman115b49 — I thought this book is interesting. The main character of the story is named Phoebe. Phoebe is a 8th grader who is attending middle school. In this story, it first describes Phoebe's life as a teenager. In the beginning of the book, Phoebe's mother loses her job and is unable to pay for her 8th grade graduation and Green Vera Wang dress for prom. In the end, she discovers that friends, family is the most lucky thing she can have in the world. Without her four best friends, her sisters, mother, and father, Phobe would not have anything in the world. Even though she could not afford graduation, and her prom dress. In the end, her friends and family members was what mattered to her the most. In life, there is nothing more you can ask for than for happiness, family, and friends, to be there to guide and support you.

Thiago Diz thiagodiz — ** spoiler alert ** This is the third book of the Harry Potter series written by J.K. Rowling. And again, I loved it. This book was about how Harry returns to Hogwarts for his third year. His powers were about to get taken away because he blew up his aunt. She was talking crap about his parents, and he couldn't take it, so he casted a spell on her. I would totally do the same thing if somebody disrespected my DEAD parents like that. Show some respect to the dead. He was going to get his powers taken away because he wasn't a wizard of age yet. He was too young to use magic in the outside world. Harry gets to mad about his aunt that he leaves. When he leaves, the minister of magic is there to meet him. He tells him that he won't be getting his powers taken away. He stays in a weird hotel for a few days till his friends Ron and Hermoine see him. Near the end of the book, it is revealed that Sirius Black, the supposed criminal, is actually his godfather and he wasn't really a murderer. He was at the wrong place at the wrong time when Peter Petigrew killed the innocent humans and blew himself up as well. When the Ministry of Magic finds Sirius, he is put into a secured room in Hogwarts. While Dumbledore, Hermoine and Harry were talking, Dumbledore implied that Hermoine do something with her time turner. Harry and Hermoine went back in time to make things right and Sirius escaped with Hagrid's hippogriff. I loved this book. I've probably read it 3 times. Definitely one of my favorites from the whole series. I am in love with Remus Lupin. He is so mysterious and charismatic in the book. He's probably my favorite professor from Hogwarts(besides Dumbledore)
