João Moleiro joaomoleiro — I can understand and appreciate the experimentation with the form. I can appreciate it as a stream of consciousness text that juggles fifteen different perspectives, but I hate this book. Everything in it, from the form, to the diction, to the story itself is ugly and after I finished it, I felt like I needed to shower to get rid of all that disgusting dirt.

Rica Cueto ricacueto — I had a hard time reading this and so then I started listening to the audio version on my drive to and from work. What a difference!!! Hearing Kingsolver, along with her husband and daughter, read the book made all the difference. My favorite part was about the turkeys...mother #1. Also the slow family routine that's created by producing much of one's own food. An inspiring way to move towards more sustainability...just need to think how to realistically apply this to my busy life and carnivorous husband. This book along with Jonathan Foer's Eating Animals has made me really consider what I eat.
