For anyone out there put off by the premise - discard your doubts! Kazuo Ishiguro gave birth to another wonder. He painted a detailed, realistic, day to day portrait of far out craziness!

Enatan Rnandez enatanhern718f — “Lock and Key” was my fourth Sarah Dessen book, and while it was not better or worse than any of the others, I think it will be my last. I started noticing a trend in her writing. The heroine is dealing with a personal issue; she meets an unbelievably perfect guy who helps her out; they slowly fall in love, though complications keep things from working out perfectly until the end. I’m not saying it’s a bad plot structure, but it’s not one I want to return to any more.

Thinkology Ltd mcbroomraymond19 — This was a good read, although long, and there were times when my interest in it faded. By it's conclusion, though, I was pretty enthralled. The last third of the book makes it hard to put down. What at first seem to be conflicts within the text reveal themselves later as part of a grand tapestry. Lawrence definitely knew what he was doing, and there's tremendous complexity and depth behind sometimes simple prose.
