Gabriel Reboredo reboredo1962cd — Reread in 2014 Original Review Below from Feb 20, 2011 It took so long for this book to come out! And it took me such little time to read it. It's almost unfair. It was a much darker book than the rest, save for maybe First Rider's Call, but then again Karigan's world is on the brink of war so you cant really expect it to be a bright and cheery read. I read whole the book within 48 hours and I have to say the ending was awful for me. It just ended! Right in the middle of a scene it felt like to me. So now I am forced to wait until the next book to find out what happens. I am not the waiting type. My least fav words are "To be continued." There is a scene in the book that is causing a small uproar amongst the readers and while I cannot say I enjoyed the scene I understand the point of it. It was in no way unnecessary. it was a cause of the political maneuverings we were not supposed to like and it is a fine example of the evil behind the politics of the main conspirator. I eagerly await the next book in the series, and unlike many of the people who complained that it took 3 years for this book to come out, omg how can I be forced to wait so long on the whims of a writer!?!, I will wait(maybe not patiently) as long as need be for the next installment. It should prove to be worth the wait if this book is to be an example.

Nisha Parikh nisha190 — I love apocalyptic fiction. It is one of my favorite genres. I also enjoy the occasional good Christian mythologically-themed horror. That being said, I couldn't even make it through 50 pages of this steaming pile. Not only did it read like a Chick Publication (those little religious pamphlets crazy people hand out on street corners), but a poorly written one at that. The success of this franchise is the best sign of the apocalypse we have. Avoid this like the plague.
