Stephanie Retamoza stephanieretamoza — I have read much better by this author. Overall the writing was not great. It switches voices a few times which did not work for me. Could have been a powerful story about domestic violence but instead made the lead character eventually become a little annoying.

Vinicius Oliveira documentarista — ** spoiler alert ** This was a really good, if slightly disturbing read. I went through a couple of reviews before I decided to read this book and was pretty much prepared to suffer from Stockholm Syndrome. Yet, I didn't. Did I feel sorry for Ty at certain points throughout the book? Yes, I certainly did. He had a horrible childhood and went through some really bad experiences. But that is not an excuse for stalking a girl for years and then eventually abducting her. Did I find myself melting a little alongside Gemma when he had some of his tender moments? Yes I did, but usually shortly after, he either had a violent outbreak or said something that was just utterly creepy. And at no point throughout the book did I hope for a happily-ever-after between the two of them. And yes, he did save her life a few times, but wasn't he the one to put her in those situations in the first place by kidnapping her and putting her in a desert in the middle of nowhere. He did get a plus-point when he stayed with her in the end, knowing that this would be most likely the end of his freedom, but I still didn't want him to get away with what he'd done. Do I hope, like Gemma, that eventually, after serving his time and hopefully getting some help he'll be able to return to the Separates to live happily? Yes, I think I do. Well, maybe I suffered a tiny bit of Stockholm Syndrome.

Sri Kanth srikanth30t — An interesting interview with Terry Brooks (though it's not strictly an interview, each chapter seems to function as if it was one). I enjoyed it; a light read, but one that gives some insights into his work and his work ethic.
