Grace Blair gymgirly121188 — Whoa...Wow...I mean this book was really...something. 8 girls - 4 the ugliest and the other 4 the prettiest. All this determined by a list. One single list. And all this made up one hell of a story too! Siobhan Vivian's 'Not That Kind Of Girl' failed to really impress me, but on the other hand 'The List' had me just sitting there after I finished reading the rather an abrupt ending of the book with an 'umm...okay...whoa' look on my face for a few moments and then scrambling to gather my bearings. My feelings for this book is all a jumbled mess right now, but I am sure of one thing - this book is going to stay with me for a long time. So...like I said before, this book really is something, along with being a must-read that any devoted reading wouldn't ever want to miss.

Hai Fei haifeixie — Summary: Girl in foster care in Nazi Germany. She struggles to learn to read, and then she steals books. Also, her foster family is hiding a Jew in the basement. This was my first serious read in a while, but it was a very good choice. The characters were very engaging, and who doesn't love stealing, I mean reading, a good book? It is written from the perspective of Death, without being at all trite about it. WARNING: THE ENDING OF THE BOOK IS MOSTLY SAD.

Tony Milton tone77 — This is the first book I've read by Meg Wolitzer, and I'll definitely seek out others. I think I'd thought I was already familiar with her, but I had her confused with Marianne Wiggins. Her characters are well-drawn and the story is compelling but not melodramatic.
