Anderson Joelmes _nderson_oelmes — am I even going to make it through the first few discs? This is very boring... Ok, there are many things about this book that I just did not care at ALL about. For example: 1. Everything about Blomkvist's magazine. And by extension, everything about his girlfriend Berger, and the staff of the magazine, and his libel trial that opens the book, and whether the magazine is going to lose subscribers (! Seriously?!)...whenever they started talking about this magazine my mind would start to wander. Why is all this subplot even there? It has nothing to do with the main plot of the book. (I realize it is there because Larsson also had a magazine and basically was making Blomkvist into a thinly disguised version of himself, but come on...editor!) 2. The frigging endless and completely unnecessary history of the Vanger family. 3. What brand of computer the main characters use. Every time with the Apple gadgets! Someone is always opening an iBook specifically, and then Larsson has to tell us how many megabytes of RAM they have...what the hell? Was he trying to get Apple to sponsor the book or something? 4. Completely random information, like "Blomkvist headed home, but stopped at the pharmacy for contact lens solution..." (that is taken directly from the book, I did not make it up) or a careful itinerary of which old magazines were on a pile in the corner of a cabin in which Blomkvist was staying. Where is the editor? I further hate the fact that Lisbeth Salander and her buddies are always wearing T-shirts with 'cool' slogans that a middle-aged guy would imagine punk anarchists would want to buy, but which any self-respecting punk anarchist would abhor. What did I like? The actual mystery was ok. This book should be about half as long.

Ugeen Alex ugeenalex — this is the first dark hunter book and let me tell you it was funny,suspenseful and hot all at the same time. definitely a great start if your looking for a good paranormal romance novel mixed with some Greek mythology.

Saint Technologies saintech — I thoroughly enjoyed this each time I read it. The opening, with the Great Gray Beast February, is pure brilliance. The whole style, including the illustrations, reminds of a gritty reboot of a Roald Dahl-Shel Silvertine Cross. It's a very simple story (as a fable should be), but very powerful.
