高 扶风 gaofufeng — The plot of this book is to complex to even attempt to go into but it has a dead historian recording events of the Trojan war for the gods, strange humans on a seemingly distant future earth, a machine race of explorers living on the outskirts of the solar system, and Shakespeare. Believe it or not they all go together in not such a surreal way as you might think. The characters are well rounded and evolve with the story. I don't know that it has important moral implications in the world but it was very entertaining to read.

Kip Stutzman kipstutzman — I'm giving this a solid five stars because even though some of it m I vessels slowly, there are some truths and gems inside of this book that every black woman needs to know. Zora understood black men and their fragile egos. She understood Black women and their desire for love that was often confused with being a whore. She understood that the black man's "burden" was the heavy chain that the black woman had to wear if she wanted his love. She understood pure love. Young, reckless, unfiltered love. Tea Cake isn't perfect but he loves Janie and it jumps at you off the pages. Janie is... perfection. I love her character because she gets it. She gets that life is too damn short to be miserable and unloved. She gets that it's nice to be alone. I adore her.
