Vera Zhang youxuan — Very quick 100-page read consisting of three short stories all based around the theme of the title. Julien is smitten by the young girl across the square but she sees him as a large, simple, ugly man - until the night she realises he could serve a purpose. Nantas is at desperation point - penniless and starving and ready to end it all, then the servant from his landlord's house calls and offers him a proposition. The young Baroness sits rapturously listening to the young priest's raging sermon, but he is more interested in fine food and wines. Quite different to the Zola that I have read in the past and I don't think I would have guessed these stories were written by him. They were simple to read and pleasant enough, but not really in the same league as Nana and his other great works. However I passed a couple of hours enjoying them.

Giano Rossi gianorossi — I was turned off by how polemic & preachy this book seemed. The information was interesting, though.

Floor Margarita _pper_loor — Great book. Ehrenreich did a good job with this book. Very human and down to earth in how it evaluates the economy most of us happen to live in.

Anderson Felício feliciob1bf — I heart TC Boyle

Cynthia Torix gigzjive — A collection of poetry by the ancient Persian poet Hafiz, The Gift is the most optimistic piece of art I own. It gets kind of sappy if you're not in the mood for it, but reading The Gift can truly be an uplifting experience.

Mat Sheldon _at_heldon — It was really great to read about how the Susan G. Komen organization was founded, especially since I am involved in their Race for the Cure. This book is very well written and Nancy is really an inspiration. Very touching and informative.

Claudia Villarreal _lauu_illarreal — this was MUCH better than DaVinci Code. It is a true page-turner and a GREAT beach read. Just a little awkward to read this in front of my conservative soon-to-be inlaws - i always tried to hide the cover.
