Diogo Sousa _iogosousac — The Girl Who Fell from the sky is the story of a biracial girl who has to come to terms with racial identity in the aftermath of a tragedy. It's a great book that discusses race in America. The book is set during the 1980's, but the discussion is timeless. Heidi's writing is engaging and creative. This is a must read, especially for book clubs. I found myself attaching to all of the characters including the grandmother, Drew, and Aunt Loretta. Durrow eloquently weaves a coming of age story that made me think about my perceptions of Black and White.

Patricia Jim patriciaji4893 — Best book of the series by far! I love Kate and Curran. They have some CRAZY sexual tension going on and they need to do something about it soon before I go crazy. I love that even though the books in this series are short they are packed full of excitement and I never feel like there is a dull moment from start to finish. If I could give more then five stars I would because it was that good!

Te3p Tee _e_p_ee — I still want to see the movie again, because it made me cry my eyes out when i was little, but goddam did i just not get the book. I don't understand what the anachronisms are for, I don't get the king lear allusion, I don't get whether I'm supposed to care about Lir, I love all the female characters (both, maybe I can count a third) but ultimately they're pretty transparent props, and I feel like the message about violence is pretty fuckin ambivalent. Also the writing felt turgid. But whatever, I'm glad other people are stoked about it. PS everything made me cry my eyes out when I was little.
