Duane Stuart duanestuart — Rereading after doing the first Kel audiobook...boy, these pre-Harry Potter stories were a lot shorter. And faster paced. Alanna goes through in 200 pages what took Kel about 600 pages (pun not intended). And Alanna did get a lot more supernatural help than Kel (not that she was too shabby in that department). It's good to see how much Tamora evolved as a writer, although this was a story that I remembered for eight years until I found that there were sequels.

Melodie Hoke _elodie_oke — I'm one of those people who HATES to know things that the characters take forever to figure out. Kinda ruins things for me. There were too many hints at things that were glaringly obvious that *somehow* the characters didn't get until the end. Otherwise, I really enjoyed it. Love the characters and dialogue.

Alexander Kopylov _lex_op — Does anyone remember the live and animated versions of this? I used to watch them on television when I was little. Awesome. It also reminds me of a friend who loves this story. I really liked it but the end disturbs me a little. Maybe I've grown up and lost my imagination.

Deobrat Das deobratdas0fa9 — I loved aspects of the book - it's a story of a wealthy turn-of-the-century woman who is completely crushed by the weight of societal expectations and her own loss of identity. I wanted this book to be "The Bell Jar". In parts it delivered for me, but it floundered and disappointed in others. Still, an interesting book.

Lorita Nhiany mended — I enjoyed reading this book. I love how she faced conflict head on. I have leaned a lot from all the personalities in this novel.
