Kyoungmin Jeon nowbros — This book is pretty much a fluff mystery. There are several different problems solved which keeps it interesting. The book is most interesting because it is set in Botswana. I enjoyed the cultural descriptions and the setting. The characters were unique also. <- This book is just being released as a series on HBO. I'm watching it at present. Some of the characters have been made more colorful, and I think the gay hairdresser has been added. (Although he may show up in later books.) The show is good, but if I hadn't read the book I don't know that it would hold my attention... ->

Qassam Obedy qassamobedd318 — I just finished listening to this book and I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. I know she was very old by the time this was done with her great nephew I believe, and I was intrigued by her. I love her attitude that when something is done, that's it, move on. I also was impressed that she and Simone Beck were able to maintain their friendship after breaking off their collaboration. She is a wonderful example of someone who really grew into herself. I was trying to explain to my teenager who she was and why she was so important and this really made me appreciate her more. I have one of her cookbooks here at home, and I had to pick it up while listening to the story. It's not how we cook now. But I think how we cook now is totally because of her. I am glad that she did this book before she died, she was a fascinating woman and her story is important.

Ahmed Hero albatall29534 — This looked like it would be a good book - and I like them thick, usually. I never finished it, and that is something I seldom do. The footnotes actually drove me crazy! Enough, enough. I still have it on my shelf. Really, though...I'm never going back to it.
