biloy_rocsaeb97
Roxana Spanu biloy_rocsaeb97 — I haven't read anything else by Malcolm Gladwell, and I think the real reason I loved this book is that it confirms my own world view. All the same, I can't resist giving it five stars. The book presents the thesis that very successful people are, like the rest of us, a product of a particular environment. In their cases it was a lucky environment indeed. Not that successful people do not work hard, but that it takes more than hard work to be an amazing success. It takes a certain background. Right with you there Malcolm Gladwell. He presents some very interesting anecdotes along the way. The less satisfying part is when you wonder about his hand-picked selection of these anecdotes, and how well they really would stand up to intense scrutiny. But I found myself loving it anyway.

José Martínez josemartinezg — I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I'm really not into the classics - but I enjoyed it.

_aria_bida
Daria Obida _aria_bida — Tracy McMillan has written a wonderful memoir, one of the best I've read (and I learned a lot from it). I read a piece of hers on HuffPo, thought it was brilliant, and went right out and got her book. She's written for Six Feet Under and United States of Tara. As it says on the cover of the book, she had a pretty tough(and unusual life): her father was a pimp and drug dealer, and was in jail for most of her life. Tracy was shuffled from foster parent to foster parent, survived several marriages and relationships...and somehow managed to come out the other end as a real mensch.

Harish Venkatesan harrryven0394 — Told from Journal entries autopsies of zombies to find a cure I love books that I written in the form of journals, letters, etc. So I had high hopes for this book. Not paying much attention to other reviews. I guessed the ending at beginning without reading any spoilers or the last page of journal entries first. And overall was not entertained. All I got out of this is a new way to call out of work. Tell my boss I have ANSD the virus that causes zombiism.

Morante Tyurina _orante_yurina — I like Erik Larson. It's 1933 ,Berlin, and William Dodd becomes first ambassador to Hilter's Germany. Alittle slow but an interesting read. Sometimes, it good to have a slow read rather than being on the edge of your seat. Enjoy the read - I did.
