Feeling that he has risked his life for nothing, Nostromo is consumed by resentment, which leads to his corruption and ultimate destruction. Then he is shot and killed, mistaken for a trespasser, by the father of his fiancée. Manvendra Singh manvendra0d531 — YA novel (first in series of four) set in a dystopian future society that mandates cosmetic surgery at 16 so that everyone is "pretty". Interesting points about societal pressures to fit in and look like everyone else, and the danger of constantly bombarding people with the message that they're not good enough. Great protagonist and well plotted with dark twists - read it in one go. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
