Mew Amazing mewamazing — This book is easy to read and has got admirable aims: to remind you that your life doesn't need to be ruled by the relentless pursuit of material goals etc. And nice that he obviously practices what he preaches. And I like The Idler anyway. Occasionally though I didn't think the arguments ring true. Tom claims that we should embrace poverty. Easy to say if you're quick-witted and resourceful enough to be able to live flexibly by working as a freelance writer. But not everyone is resourceful enough to do something like that. And I suspect the Middle Ages weren't quite the utopia Tom paints them as. But ultimately I got lots out of this book. I've been inspired to take a big chunk of time off from working to play guitar and bought a packet of carrot seeds yesterday.

Minsun Jeon minsunj — Despite my current non-practicing Catholic status, I am interested to see why everyone I know from my cousins who NEVER read books to my self-help-book junkie friend has read this book.

Luis Gomes lumg — Clean and interesting. It's a good book, but it never really grabbed me like some books can. Mysterious time travel novel with some teenage romance (I'm afraid these parts were cheesy).
