Welma Oosthuizen _elma — I adore this book. My first taste of Hornby and I wanted to marry the man. His use of pop culture, especially music, references was so great! To me, as a big music fan, I loved trying to keep up with him. I also loved that Hornby is British. There's nothing better than witty British authors.

Brock Martin _rock_artin — This one's a mite depressing, like Thomas Hardy's other books. Every character is well drawn, and no one has it easy. I always want to drown myself in a Jane Austen book after reading one of his books, if only to heal my heart. Fate seems to deal his characters some very bad hands, and I often find myself saying, "If only THAT didn't happen, they'd be happy." At the very least, some of the main characters get what they deserve. The ones who have caused a lot of pain get it back tenfold, and the ones who have done nothing but love soon find happiness in the end. But my heart breaks for "the native" and his mother. They didn't quite get what they deserved. Finished reading May 5, 2007.

Denis Osullivan denisosulli — Phew! So long, so confusing (everyone seems to have the same name) and everytime I got into it the generation would change! I'd recommend Life in the Time of Cholera over this one any day!

Parin Heidari parinh374a — I liked Sadie's series. She took the characters places and directions that I wouldn't have taken them had I been writing the stories. But that made the books interesting.
