Clotildez Pooper clotildez — Eh. That's how I felt about this book. Nothing special.

Dan Kenton kentondan36 — What fun to read a book as it was written in 1722. All the English usages that have gone out of use and had to be interpreted as best I could. The side effects of the plague were interesting, people seeing visions, proclaiming themselves as healers, false potions and money making schemes preying off of the poor sick people who were dying. The brave people who stayed behind to take care of the sick. The self-contentedness of the people not affected. It all rang true of people in general. I can see that the society back then was not very different from the way we are now. It's a very short book, just as I was getting bored, it was done, with half the book as explanations and footnotes that I didn't bother to read.

Alan Smith asmithphoto — This was Nancy Moser's first attempt at biography, and she did an amazing job! I knew very little about Nannerl (Mozart's sister) other than that she performed with him when they were children. Moser writes this biography with a great deal of empathy for Nannerl and her unfortunate situation living in the shadow of her famous (if rather irresponsible) brother.
