Shivangi Gokhale shivangivaze — This is one of the best books I ever had to read for summer reading. It introduced me to Chaim Potok's writing, and he is a fantastic author, and it also introduced me to the world of Hasidic Jews in America. I hadn't really ever known anything about the Hasidim before I read the book, and I was fascinated. The friendship between Reuven and Danny is really intriguing, and Danny's father is an equally interesting character. In many ways, Danny is very similar to another one of Potok's characters in other books (Asher Lev), but with a less developed story.

Raphael Hora rhora — One of the funniest, most ridiculous, and yet weirdly not too unfathomable accounts of the life of Jesus every written. Covers the "lost years". Actually laugh out loud funny.

Gabrielli Galeazzi gabrielligaleazzi — This book is amazing. Seattle Mystery Bookshop recommended it as their best book with a comment like "how did the awards miss this one" and they were (as always) dead right. Non-stop action, compelling book. Then I read everything else I could get by Don Winslow and they are all this good. (Definitely rated R for drug use, language, and violence--but if you like movies like The Departed, you'll like this book.)

Mickael Desgranges mkdgs — This one did not keep my attention very well. I became a bit confused with the different types of werewolves and who was good and who was bad. I liked that we learned a little bit more about Harry and his past in this one, along with getting some information about his parents. I also liked getting to see his darker desires and taste for power. It made him seem a bit more human.

Renato Santos _ind_ider20 — This book is a good read. it tells the combined story of multiple different women hobos during the early part of the last century. the stories contained in the book are informational beyond just being a good story. the subjects they mention, such as the hobo camps or the hobo colleges or the specific apartments or tenements, are part of a much larger hobo history of the time. It's also part of a series being published by AK Press with lots of other really good books in it.
