Details of her vagabond life enthrall Chris. Ultimately, his patience, forbearance and careful wooing of her are derailed by alcohol with tragic consequences.Because the story is told only from the inner dialog and interchanges between the two characters it achieves great intimacy. We become voyeurs of their drama and share in the poignancy of their unexpressed love .

Glenda Lazart avenidadelapaz — Initially, the idea that the main character thought she was raised by apes prior to being raised by a foster family was crazy. However, the mystery she was trying to solve was so interesting that the ape took backstage. As she was finding answers to the main story, she was discovering the truth about her past. Fascinating and original.

Victoria Hernández _ictoria_ — I hugged this book when I was done with it. (That's right.) It made me shed a tear at the end which rarely happens. I read it several times.

Cristiane Marino cristianem9c54 — This book deals with so many things that teenagers can relate too. This book covers everything from suicide, sexuality, and depression, but it also shows a lot of compassion-which I think makes this not such an ordinary and great book. Also, this book really focuses in on the social aspects of growing up, which I think will make students want to read this book. This is another book that I would love to use in my classroom. I’m sure the controversial aspects will raise a flag, but I think these topics are dealt with in manner that can be taught in a school.
