Mariana Brasil nayushi — I read lots of these types of books and I loved this one. It's about two girls, Deeba and Zanna, who are schoolmates in London. Weird stuff has been happening to Zanna recently. People (and animals!) she's never met seem to know her and someone walked up to her in a cafe and said, "schwazzy." Whatever that means. Pretty soon, the girls find themselves on an exciting adventure in a very strange city called "UnLondon" where the conventions of our lives have been turned topsy-turvy and nothing is quite as it seems. This book plays around with standard plotlines and kept surprising me. The best part is that although it's catalogued in my library as adult Sci-Fi, other libraries have it in Teen and one library even has it in Children's--it could truly be read and enjoyed by all ages.

William Mari _illiam_ari — I read this book before traveling to Australia and thought it was excellent. Bryson is a great storyteller and seamlessly transitions from stories about his travels to scientific explanations and history.

Umberto Gorra _mbertogorra — Upon looking for something new to read, and knowing nothing about the author, this one instantly caught my eye. Reading the back synopsis, which hardly gives anything away, about a female driver who cruises the highway looking for hitch hikers to pick up, seemed somewhat interesting. And upon reading a page or two of the beginning, mainly some awkward conversations between driver and hitcher, I thought, "well, this sounds like fun. Might as well go with a light read for a change". A few hours of reading later on that day, I couldn't have been more wrong. A light read it wasn't. What it did turn out to be, is one of the most disturbing, mesmerizing and hauntingly beautiful pieces of fiction I've ever had the pleasure of reading. It's quite unlike any story I've ever read, and I've read a lot, skipping from one genre to another. The writing is also weaved in such an eloquent style, thus complimenting this dark tale with its fine crafted depths and mysteries to new heights in storytelling. Highly recommended, to anyone seeking a dark, strange and complex read. Truly original too, and I don't get to say that often.

I noticed alot of people reading the book at my school, but I never imagined reading it myself. For one because it was pretty BIG, and knowing me, I figured I wouldn't finish it. Also, I had heard it was about "vampires" and that type of stuff just doesn't interest me...So I thought. Now I am a huge Twiglight fan! It isn't neccessarily a vampire story but a love story. What girl doesn't love to sit back and read a good romance novel? Of course we love all of that mushy stuff! Not only did it appeal to my feminine mushy love side, but it had moments of acTion and suspense that kept me up pasT my desired bedtime, not aBle to wait to figure out "WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT"?? Don't let the thickness of the book fool you! It will have you flipping through pages like nothing! You'll go from page one to one hundred with ease not noticing the time flying by nor the pages you have whipped through! Everything about this book is simply remarkable. The way each character was described, you could actually smell the sweet smell of Bella's blood, feel Edward's cool finger tips, envision the beautiful, pale, but deadly inhuman creatures. Not only is the book lovely but it is appropriately sexy and lures you into Edward's trap.He makes you want him...One of my favorite lines had to be when he told Bella that he was tired of resisting her AND when he said he was thirsty for her blood. The love pouring through Edward through the words of this book mskes you want to steal him away from Bella and hope and pray that sexy romantic vampires were real!!
