The Vespertine was just okay for me. I had fairly high expectations for this book because its gotten such good reviews, however, for me it fell short. It seemed as though it took until the end of the book for anything to happen and at that point in the story, it all just felt rushed. The first chapter had me intrigued, but after that it went downhill. There was so much girly gossip and just boring talking while nothing happened... I guess it just isn't my type of book. It wasn't horrible and thankfully didn't take up much of my time but I wouldn't read it again or recommend it to anyone. That's just me, read for yourself and form your own opinions ;-) Maybe you'll like it better than I did!

Well, I love this series, needless to say. Yet this book was a slight disappointment. The whole Jace and Clary thing with them loving each other yet Jace always pulling away is getting really old for me. Though I did love the relationship between Simon and Izzy. Now, I personally feel that the books have gotten way too angsty teenage drama. I DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT! I want some good fights, like in the earlier books. Sure, I understand the whole need for love stories within the book, but I want action to balance it out, and in this one it just didn't. Spoilers, because I don't care enough to put it as that hide in spoilers stuff. Now, I do love that Sebastian comes back. I know that sounds weird, but I do love the whole Sebastian story. And Lilith was also an interesting twist. Now, the thing that sucks is that, the only part I REALLY enjoyed was the end. I mean some of the stuff in the middle was cool, but the end was best. So, I am tired and not supremely coherent so I will put a better review when I can think more clearly

Fantastic book. Very good descriptions of what children are like at a given age, what to expect now and next, how to handle doctor's visits, what to do if your child is ill, etc. They copy i have has horrible drawings of kids, though. I think they've changed this in the newer editions. I referred this constantly when my 4 kids were little, and now use her The Portable Pediatrician's Guide to Kids: Your Child's Physical and Behavioral Development from Age 5 to Age 12.
