Originally posted on The Authoress: Book Review and More. The Butterfly Clues was a gripping, intense story with a fascinating, unique main character. I don't know exactly what I was expecting when I first started in: a quick, easy read, I guess. But Kate Ellison pulled me in fast with her addictive main character, Lo, and heart-racing storyline. Lo, at first, was a bit off-putting with her psychotic tendencies to steal and her must-do-or-the-world-will-fall-apart paranoia of tap, tap, tap, banana-ing before entering and leaving a room. Her obsession with threes, sixes, and nines would make you raise your eyebrows at the page. Still, there's something vulnerable lurking between all that paranoia and obsession, something tender and fragile that really captured me, and made me want to know more about her and her story. The setting of The Butterfly Clues was creepy, to put it lightly, but alluring in its own way. I don't think having a tour of the interior of a strip club or a place called Neverland could have worked in any other book. Here, it was fitting. Entirely so. Nothing streamline for this book. There were only a few things I think lacked. For example, though I thought that the romance was well done, a few of the scenes were a bit too cliche, and moments that should have been crucial were understated. Also, Lo's relationship with her parents was not as well-balance throughout the book as I would have preferred. All of the drama with her parents came at the end, as if trying to fit its bigger role in at the end. The mystery was fantastic, though. I was very impressed with how it was written--how it played out. I love books that surprise you, but I also love it when your suspicions turn out correct. It's a very satisfying moment. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a love for mystery and chilling stories.

This book is called "Love the one you're with" by Emily Giffin. Giffin catches the love and the moment that she portrays in this book. It's fascinating to see the perfect life of a married couple versus the exciting and wild life with an ex boyfriend from the past. Ellen and Andy are the definition of the perfect married couple. Sometimes it feels like its too perfect for it to be true. Andy brings the best out of her. And one day she bumps into Leo who use to be her boyfriend and now he's her ex boyfriend. This was the first time in 8 years since they have seen each other. Leo was the guy that left her heartbroken without an explanation. Now he calls her and they hang out with each other a lot. This has made Ellen question a lot about her marriage with Andy. She just doesn't know anymore. This is a romance novel based on love and confusion. It's true love versus love. It's a very powerful and moving novel that definitely worth reading.

Put down whatever you're reading and read this book. It's so good. It is a memoir that is divided into short little anecdotes, so you can read it in spurts if you want--but Thomas's prose is so good that I wanted this book to last forever.

"Fighting For Freedom, Because A Better World Is Possible," is the first book written, edited and published by my colleague and I.. Spanning different cultures, countries and time periods, Edgey Wildchild and I have documented various example of Capitalism’s damaging effect upon our world. I focused on the history of women in Medieval times, their struggle to work and live independently and the forces that kept them suppressed. He also extensively traced the routes of human evolution, proving that civilization is not only an extremely new phenomenon, but a very disruptive and damaging one as well. Writing this book was a huge achievement for us; we had always discussed the problems in our world and theorized on how could resolve them. On one sunny afternoon in August 2005, we decided it was vital to put our ideas to paper and show the world our findings and solutions. There was no time to waste; every moment is precious when racing against the earth’s destruction. We did the research. Spent countless hours editing, rereading, rephrasing, and negotiating. From finding ISBN numbers to constructing websites and designing logos, it was one great big adventure. There were bumps along the road; trying to find a decent publisher was a nightmare. When I started reading this book, I quickly became engrossed in the story and in the style he used. I was sorry to hear that his account had been discredited, that he exaggerated or told some things that weren't exactly true. But I still thought it was a great book. Its fast pace and lack of quotations gave it an immediacy that I liked. It gave a glimpse of an addict's thinking and feeling that was very powerful. I appreciated meeting the characters that he met at the rehab center. It is definitely a story that might help someone to think twice before using potentially addictive substances. But the many of the needs he felt are part of all of us.
