This book was not at all what I was expecting. I had to keep telling myself the two main characters were seventeen and fifteen. Once I did that, it was a much easier read. I was on and off about if I liked it or not, but when I finished I found myself wondering what would happen, since it is a 'to be continued' ending. So all in all, I suppose I liked it enough to want to read the second book.

Never did finish this one, but I wasn't impressed by the opening chapter. Sure, the stereotype of women as marriage-hungry mantraps is awful, and sure, it creates a total mental boondoggle for independent feminist types who actually ARE hungry to get married to their reluctant boyfriends -- but do we really need a book to explain that?

before i read this book i thought it was a romance, the classic traditional "love triangle." not so much. i mean, i guess there *is* a love triangle in it, but i wouldn't say it's a particularly romantic, loving book. still liked it.

This was the textbook for a Linguistic Criticism class I took Fall semester 06. It's so well written and really fun to read. I've never felt this passionately about a textbook. Fowler is really bright and shares so much knowledge, he really gets the reader thinking.

Story of a farming community ruled by one family. Reacher comes to town and decides to punish the ones doing evil, while also investigating a cold case (child disappearance). I actually really liked the writing of Lee Child and think that Jack Reacher is pretty awesome. Sort of a Jason Bourne-like killing machine. I will definitely try more of this series.
