A very rocky start -- I almost dumped the book -- but it ended up being a decent little story. Extra points for gay chicken. I thought I'd roll my eyes at that, but it ended up creating some very hot scenes.

Had a slow start but totally had me wrapped up in it by the end. Twins Minerva and Keira are daughters of a white father and black mother. It shouldn't be a big deal but unfortunately, in our society, it still is. As they work through hurdles and feelings about racism, we learn a lot.

I've read this book twice. Don't think it's genius or a masterpiece, but do think it's VERY insightful. Huxley wrote it in 1932; the man knew what was coming. I love the first sentence: something to do with a "squat" building of only "32 stories." "Squat" at 32 STORIES! those are some of our largest buildings these days! Imagine if a 32-story building was small. my goodness! (People think I'm nuts, focusing on that.) Great book. Scary, the way our society is becoming it. (in the book, people no longer reproduce through sexual contact. ALL people are made in test tubes. And then decanted. Nuts. And occuring. Now.)

So I originally picked this book up because the copy I have has an extreme close up of Viggo as he will be playing "The Man" in a movie that will be released later this year. I had never read any of McCarthys works before but this was amazing. I wish I could express how touching it is, not only because there is little use of punctuation and quotation marks which I feel puts you in the story more, but the bond between this man and his son is examined in great detail which is set in post-apocalyptic time. It made me examine the bond I have between my own children and left me wondering what lengths would I take to survive in such a situation and really created a sense of gratitude for what I now have. Not for the light-hearted as it can be depressing.

This was a good ending to a 4-book fallen angel love story. I actually liked it more than I expected. It was interesting to read the story's take on Heaven. I haven't been reading a lot of YA lit lately, but I have been wanting to finish a few series that I started over the last few years, including this one. Can someone tell me where I can get the dresses (and hair) of the girl on the book cover?

I really enjoyed reading this book despite how much I cried thru out it. I will admit at times Holly's selfishness made me what to slap her around to snap her out of it. Great love story even though it was a short lived one.
