H.G. Wells books are fascinating because he lived before the time of many of the inventions he describes. He would have seen an "aeroplane" later in his life. Did he write this before he knew about them? Graham, the main character, is confused during much of the book so the reader is also confused but you are driven to read more to figure out what is happening. From the title you can gather that Graham falls asleep and then awakens; but when does he fall asleep and when does he wake up? This book can be read quickly and is free on Kindle.

Good for bits and pieces. Very dense read. I'd recommend it for someone who has a narrow interest on crime in Mumbai, or just wants to glean insights through a few chapters.

New: I'm now done with this book. It was ok--again, some stuff in there that raised my eyebrows, that influenced this mediocre rating. I do commend Karen Armstrong though for writing this book and entitling it so appropriately. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm halfway through this book. It's interesting reading a sirah book written by a non-Muslim, even if it's a sympathetic non-Muslim, because as Muslims, we are so inherently biased when reading about the Prophet (saw). She presents the Prophet (saw) in a positive light and really more so on a very human level, with human struggles that we can relate to. However, there is some sketchy stuff in there.

Historia gráfica ambientada en París de final de siglo XIX y principios del XX. Exposición universal, Art déco y miseria. Historia truculenta que te atrapa y te conmueve. La trama se me ha escapado un poco (me pierdo enseguida, esa es la verdad) y he tenido que volver sobre mis pasos para que todo me cuadrada, pero finalmente me ha encantado.

You can't go far wrong with stories about warriors. I expected to find stories here about brutality, politics and friendship, and I was not disappointed. I write from the perspective of a history buff, but there are futuristic stories in the collection as well. I bought the book mainly for "The Mystery Knight" by George R. R. Martin. I'm a great fan of the Dunk and Egg stories. This is probably my least favorite of the three, but that is faint criticism, since I still enjoyed it. Cecelia Holland's "The Kings of Norway" was my most pleasant surprise. This is straightforward historical fiction. A story about two cousins in the midst of a clash of Viking dragon ships, it was one of the best descriptions of a sea battle I had ever read. It has since launched me on a reading binge of her other works. The other gem for me in this collection is "The Triumph" by Robin Hobb. It's a story of friendship and kept promises set in the Punic Wars, and had a turn toward fantasy that was a surprise but made the narrative all the more exciting.
