Impressive. Weaves myth and reality in a way that reminds me of the movie Big Fish. I hope she can continue at this caliber.

Surrender yourself to disbelief. Suspend reality before you read this psycho-thriller. One of my all time favorite books.

Poorly written with flat characters, predictable plot-line, and an unearned use of World War II/Nazis. This book was such a let down after Harris's perfect previous Hannibal novels. Reads like it was produced just to make a movie, which it probably one--one not worth seeing.

Awesome awesome awesome book that will challenge you to grow to be more like Christ in every way. Meditation, prayer, study, simplicity were excellent chapters I have read multiple times and could now like it was the first time. A classic.

Forbidden Colors (禁色, Kinjiki?) is a novel by Yukio Mishima, translated in 1968. The name kinjiki is a euphemism for homosexuality. The kanji 禁 means "forbidden" and 色 in this case means "erotic love", although it can also mean "color". The word "kinjiki" also means colors which were forbidden to be worn by people of various ranks in the Chinese court. [edit] Major themes The novel, by Yukio Mishima, describes a marriage of a gay man to a young woman.

One of my favorite books. Russians say Lermontov was second to Pushkin in poetry, but surpassed in him prose (and that's saying a lot since this was his only novel he wrote). One of the first modern Russian novels, and subsequent Russian greats all paid homage to its influence. Explores the "superfluous man" idea--gifted people who are anachronistic to their time, and so are doomed to unhappiness and petty amusements (as in the case of the protagonist/anti-hero, Pechorin). Females will probably hate Pechorin (Russian novels don't usually speak too highly of females), but I say give him a charitable chance and reading, and you might really enjoy the book!
