Deserves four stars, but somehow I couldn't get into it. Sequel to Goose Girl. Enna develops a power as a fire starter, but it eats away at her, and she is terrified that she will lose control. Very well written, but I couldn't connect with Enna. I didn't like her much. I had a similar reaction to Goose Girl. Guess Hale's just not the author for me.

Just like the first book, this book had me laughing I was sort of glad that Darcy was able to turn back human, the best part were the women in the harem they are so set in there way of time that they had me say "what" entire time. On with the next book.

The first benefit I've got is, surely, my English skill, as it's the first English book I've ever read from the preface to the conclusion. And since it's my first experience of reading English textbook, I haven't caught the clear-cut pictures illustrated in the text but the topic about how globalization effects each local community. I must to read it again, then.

This book comes down to all of the research saying that we are 25% genetic, 25% behavioural, and 50% of an x-factor that no one can pin down. I do believe that the biologist/physisists can only tell a partial story, and the social scientist another partial story. The entire picture is everything together plus some noise to shake it up a little.

A very unfortunate title. The subtitle should have been: How to apply the patterns of great philosophers. I just can't believe that I would ever think like the great philosophers nor would I want to. I'm perfectly find thinking the way I think. Now that I have that out of my system, the book is great. In 25 sections, the author takes each key contribution from some incredible philosopher. It could be called a philosophy field guide.
