Started out slow. Was more shocking (in a good way) than LOL funny in the beginning but towards the end I really became interested in what he had to say...and he made me LOL several times. Worth reading. Good in snippets.

I loved this book. I thought it was gripping, exciting, and that there were lots of really good, interesting characters. Its a really strange, and terrifying concept. One of Stephen Kings best, although I haven't read a book by him that I haven't enjoyed.

Johnson questions human nature to the fullest in Middle Passage creating a novel that can be thought of as a pirate yarn, a myth, a legend, but most of all a story of how significantly one changes in the face of utter peril. I strongly recommend this book to anyone up for an intellectual read, it has certainly made me question my own opinions and beliefs.

Jocelyn & Austin (Sabian) . . . This book was HOT!!! HOT!!! HOT!!! It's an unconventional love story / relationship . . . but it was nicely written and points things out from a different perspective (an escort's perspective). I would happily recommend this book! Overall: 5.0 stars!!!

Ich muss sagen, dass ich mit ziemlich großen Erwartungen an dieses Stück Literatur gegangen bin und sie wurden auf alle Fälle erfüllt. Die Geschichte ist sehr knifflig, intelligent und spannend. Dadurch, dass aus Watsons Sicht geschrieben wird, kommt man dem Rätsel auch immer nur so viel näher, wie er, da Sherlock seine Theorien nicht verrät. Ebenso kann man Watons Begeisterung für diesen Mann mit empfinden, ist immer wieder verblüfft über seine schnellen Schlussfolgerungen, die - wenn er sie einmal erklärt - dann plötzlich ganz leicht wirken. Aber es ist kein purer Ernst angesagt. An vielen Stellen musste ich auch herzhaft lachen. Sherlocks Weltansichten sind zwar schon nachvollziehbar, aber auch etwas seltsam. Auch der Aufbau ist echt super gemacht, finde ich. Dazu kann ich mich nicht so recht äußern, ohne zu viel zu verraten, aber das Buch ist in 3 Teile geteilt, würde ich sagen, wobei ich besonders den zweiten sehr gut und passend eingefügt fand. Wer es gelesen hat, weiß, was ich meine. Ein tolles Buch! Ich bin echt begeistert von Sherlock Holmes und habe mich gleich an den zweiten Band gesetzt!
