Finished up the audio version this morning. I kinda liked the first half of the book more than the rest of it. As the story drew to its conclusion, with everything coming full circle, it seemed to be some kind of report that a social worker would insert into the file and done up as a PowerPoint presentation. Seems like the social workers were telling us what to think, how to feel. I would have liked to have heard more on the real feelings of Lynnie and Honan when they were finally reunited. I'm left wondering if the 'appropriate language' used in the last chapters of the book was a deliberate attempt to show the reader how no one's really satisfied at these meetings but the social workers themselves. Maybe it was deliberate. I gave it a 4 ... and think I'd like to give it a 3 1/2 but don't kow how to change that in the rating box.
