I loved it!!!I loved how they had lines about other books and shows. They kept up with our times and yet the book is totally fantasy. I love how they keep Bones himself his time period. I wish Tepish gets a mate. But I cried, yes I cried, laughed and actually re read a chapter because I liked it that much. I read it in 2 days becuase I had work. If I didn't have to work I would definally have finished this book in 1 day. I liked it because it was an easy and fun read.

A solid 4.5 stars. I've now put Ilona Andrews into the category of "incapable of writing a bad book". A rarified strata occupied by few authors indeed. The Edge series just gets better and better and this one had every element needed to make for an excellent book: adventure, strong characters, a good story, good writing. If you haven't read it yet, do so soon.

احتمالاً شما هم در کتاب‌خانه‌تان کتاب‌های حجیمی دارید که به نظرتان هم خواندنی هستند. ولی آن‌قدر حجم‌شان زیاد است که هر وقت می‌خواهید سراغشان بروید یا حوصله‌تان نمی‌کشد یا این‌که فکر می‌کنید به جای این کتاب می‌توانید ۴ تا کتاب دیگر بگذارید. خیلی از کتاب‌های تاریخی خوب این‌طورند. حالا اگر یک آدم کاربلد بیاید و از یک کتاب مثلا ۶۰۰ صفحه‌ای یک خلاصه ۱۰۰ صفحه‌ای بنویسد که لب کلام هم در آن آمده باشد و حتی بعضی جمله‌های مهم را هم عیناً آورده باشد، انصافاً لطف بزرگی به جماعت گشاد و سرشلوغ کرده. سید جواد طباطبایی این کار را کرده. طباطبایی یکی از مورخان* معروف است و حتی اگر تزش را در مورد تاریخ ایران قبول نداشته باشی، نمی‌شود محقق خوب بودنش را زیر سؤال برد. وقتی کتاب‌هایش را می‌خوانی می‌فهمی که کا تحقیق درست و حسابی کرده. کاری که برای یک محقق کاری معمولی است، ما چون محقق زیاد نداریم عادت نداریم. خلاصه طباطبایی وقتی می‌خواسته دیباچه‌ای بر نظریه انحطاط در ایران را بنویسد، کتابی خوانده که چشمش را گرفته. کتاب خاطرات یک روحانی مسیحی که در زمان حمله افغان‌ها به اصفهان و سقوط صفویه در آن شهر بوده. این کتاب همان موقع در اروپا چاپ شده و ظاهراً خیلی هم از آن استقبال شده. خلاصه به نوشته طباطبایی کتاب مهمی است که متأسفانه گویا هنوز به فاسی ترجمه نشده است (و معلوم هم نیست که بشود). طباطبایی هم دیده که کتاب، کتاب مهمی است و ترجمه‌اش کار او نیست. کلی هم یادداشت از کتاب برداشته بوده که خیلی کمش در کتاب انحطاط استفاده شده. برای همین تصمیم گرفته خلاصه‌ای حدوداً ۹۰ صفحه‌ای از این کتاب دو جلدی تهیه کند. حاصل کار شده کتاب سقوط اصفهان؛ به روایت کروسینسکی که کتابی است خواندنی و البته گریه‌آور. روایت قومی که آمده بودند برای یک راه‌زنی و گردن‌کلفتی و وقتی می‌بینند هیچ‌کس جلودارشان نیست و شاه مملکت حاضر است کلی رشوه بهشان بدهد که برگردند می‌فهمند که حریف چقدر ضعیف است و هی بیش‌تر می‌خواهند و تا جایی هم به دست می‌آورند. شرح درنده‌خویی‌ها (لطفاً واژه را دقیق بخوانید: درنده‌خویی) واقعاً وحشتناک است. البته در این مورد دو طرف دعوا دست کمی از هم ندارند. بخوانید و ببینید این شاه سلطان حسین که بی‌کفایتی‌اش ضرب‌المثل شده واقعاً در چه ابعادی بی‌کفایت بوده. قصدم اصلاً ایجاد یا القای حس ضدافغان (حتی ضد افغانی سیصد سال پیش) نیست. در این کتاب همان‌قدر که از مهاجمان افغان منزجر بودم از درباریان و سرداران ایرانی هم نفرت داشتم. سقوط اصفهان؛ به روایت کروسینسکی بازنویسی: سید جواد طباطبایی نشر نگاه معاصر چاپ اول: ۱

Although this book was, at times, completely fascinating, the story-itself was disappointing. Maybe it's because the out-of-sequence telling of the story made most of the important events that happened in Oscar's life fall a little flat for me. I found all of the references to Dominican history completely fascinating, though, and loved Junot Diaz's saucy approach to DR history-telling.

Posted on Under the Covers I absolutely loved Michaels’s writing style. The pacing was great, the sense of humor was spot on and most of all, this book had a lot of heart in it. Evan and Matt are perfect for one another. I loved that they both started off in a bad place. Of course, I don’t wish what happened to Evan to happen to anybody, but the fact that Evan found comfort in Matt’s presence set my mind at ease. It seemed like a natural progression to their friendship and I loved that they sought out each other in their darkest times. It shows that love can overcome the steepest mountain. You just need to have a little faith. I know that others had a difficult time believing that Matt and Evan were both straight men who, for the first time became interested in men. My feelings on this were the exact opposite. I felt that Michaels showcased their inner conflict well. Their confusion was evident in Evan’s self-loathing and doubt and also in Matt’s unease. There was a lot of back-and-forth action because, for them, it’s something they have never experienced before. Faith and Fidelity was a thrill to read. It was a solid M/M romance with a wonderful backstory and incredible supporting characters. I’m sure Michaels will become a favourite of mine soon.
