A good book overall, but the bunny in the last issue just slew me.

A little inaccessible at first, I had a hard time figuring out whether I felt the voice was too self-aware ironic or whatever. After that it was all good.

The definitive review of what really occurred in the Americas before and after Columbus set sail. This book will point you towards the truth, but it will also make you extremely depressed. The author does not hold back when describing the horrific acts of torture and flat out slaughter that took place. There are some "good" bits too-- a nice portion of stuff about Bartolomé de Las Casas.

Beautifully intertwined stories; usually with a novel like this, I start to feel a preference for one story over the other, but Dubus keeps you interested in both story lines until the catastrophic moment when they cross.

Mystery fans will enjoy this British writer’s works. The Woman in Black is a quick read, but packed with mystery and is very reminiscent of classic ghost stories.

This book was interesting until they got into the Vatican. Then it degraded into all the infighting and bribing that went on to keep everyone happy and friends. If I want to see that, I'll watch "Survivor" or "Rock of Love".

The rare chick-lit that transcends it's genre - and doesn't feel like you could have written it on the back of a cocktail napkin while waiting for your table at TGI Friday's. A gem with humor and heart.

I found this book fascinating. The fact that John has never travelled to India and yet he wrote a book by visualizing India is amazing. It's a book that is bold in its narrative.
An interesting read. It's a story that keeps you guessing with plot twists that are certainly not expected.
