To be honest, I really didn't like this book that much. We had to annotate and pull out quotes for this book, which is probably why I didn't like it that much, but overall it just didn't really interest me. It's the sort of book that you should read more than once to get anything out of it.

Love this book. It was very slow at times with long converstions never getting to the point, but definitely worth it! I chose this book of Austen because I didn't know the plot and I'm glad I didn't. It was a great read! Great lovestory :)

I could not wait to finish the book. The story of the frienship was so compelling. The story was edgy and dark at times but refreshingly different. It even ends on very real although less than peachy keen note.

A Harry Potter for slightly older folks. It was fun and I enjoyed it. I listened to the audio book version which was read by James Marsters who I'm told has had many fantasy / sci fix roles on television. I look forward to future volumes.

Our youngest brought this book home from school to practice her reading. It's a short book, with lots of repetition and it has colorful illustrations. The simple narrative in this book helps children learn to read.

I have read every book she has ever written--getting mad at the fact that they are predictable, but seem to think I will read them all! This is her last chance, before I swear off all JP books! So, I will not swear off Picoult, this one was much better than the last few--could maybe muster 3.5 stars for this one. The topics of music therapy, lesbians, fundamentalists, and IVF all made for some interesting thoughts. This one would maybe be good for a book club (if you all really loved each other and could talk about abortion, being gay, and religion!) But, I knew all three "twists" chapters in advance, so either I am getting smarter, or Jodi is getting more predictable!

This is an amazing book about a man who is working to make a difference in an almost forgotten part of the world that has recently been thrown onto the world stage. The remote parts of Pakistan and Afganistan have been forgotten even by their own government, and there is a void in the area of education. The children living there are so eager to learn that they will go to any school they can and the radical Islamist are taking advantage of that by setting up schools which teach those radical values. Greg Mortensen works to set up moderate schools with a more balanced education, and does it with the backing and support of the villagers. I was inpired by his commitment, and learned more about this area than by anything I have seen in the news.
