This was my second time through the book. The main idea is the law of attraction...in other words thinking positively brings positive things into your life. While negative thoughts breeds a negative life and experience. Even though the book was written to people of all beliefs, I enjoyed reading it from a Chrisitan perspective. Faith promotes good things by putting your desires into action. The book has a powerful message.

The movie is just as good, too. Definately read the book first. Definately. These two are along the same lines as when Terry Gilliam shot 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas' in regards how a movie adaptation can be just as good as the book. The soundtrack to 'Wonam in the Dunes' is a piece of literature as much as the movie itself.

Only liking snippets, but they are thought-provoking. il bel far niente - Italian for the beauty of doing nothing. listen to God - rest in stillness. That is hard. I have - The monkey-mind (Buddhist term) the thoughts that swing from limb to limb. Make peace with what you are given. Accept how you were made and embody yourself fully therein. "The wise man is always similar to himself." Doesn't mean you can't improve yourself, just work "within" your personality. Interrupting someone - "I believe what I am saying is more important than what you are saying." hence, "I believe that I am more important than you."

Enthralling and so original and entertaining! loved every bit of it, and the characters had so much depth - it was like i was among them. It was nice to have an Asian main character: Frank, well he is actually half but whatever. Hazel and Frank are so adorable together, I ship it. Oh and Riordian please do not be a troll, somehow i have a feeling Annabeth will not be on the ship thingy, I forgot what it was called. Love, love, love this book. Why it is a 4.50 when it should be a 10/5?!?!?! I need to dig out some time to read this wonderful adventure again. can i be demigod now
