Forget vampires, this is a non-stop thriller full of mutant animals, nuclear powers and invisible walls. The adults disappear; the kids are rough... Let the fun begin. I love that the book covers issues such as autism and bullemia amongst others. It really is a great read and I shall continue to highly recommend it.

Semi-fascinating...the methodology is similar to the Enquirer Mag Methology "It could be true"...yes but it probably isn't... OK it wasn't SO bad- I am upgrading it to 3 stars

I really do not understand all of the hype that surrounds these books at all (but then again, the popularity of the Twilight series also has me baffled). The writing isn't great. The characters are dull. The whole world that Canavan creates here falls a little flat to me and most of the book is spent chasing Sonea about as she is in hiding. There is nothing challenging about it at all - it's a bit like painting your living room magnolia. Unoffensive, no content and no real issues are addressed. The book completely lacks depth, in all honesty.

This book was a little trashy (never forget my snobbishness), but it had some interesting parts. The line I loved the most described a client of the courtesan. The dwarf narrator (see, told you) says that he never knew if the old man was "coming soon or going forever." Ha.

I can always count on a fun and thrilling read in one of these Glory St. Clair books. I had stumbled upon this series by accident. Saw the first book on sale at Barnes and Noble and picked it up. Since then I haven't stopped getting these books when I can find them. This book has Glory turning a human to a vampire. Something she doesn't want to do. When her and Valdez stumble upon Lucky Carver behind her shop bleeding out, Gloria has to decide to either save her or let her die. I will say that Lucky is annoying from the beginning. Lucky is not one to be quiet and unseen and now that she is a vampire she has to learn the vampires rules. As always Glory is very entertaining with the men in her life and it is great to see Blade in this book. I look forward to the next book and possibly seeing Lucky in future books.

This was a summer assignment reading. I liked it ok but I was really rushed in reading it (because who begins summer homework early enough). It was decent but probably my least fave of the summer (it included The Great Gatsby which was my hands down favorite).

This is a fascinating book, and Nabokov wrote more exquisite prose than just about everybody else who ever lived. You know, there's your life before you read Lolita and your life after. Humbert Humber may be the most bewitching villain in Englisn literature. In a word, incomparable.
