didn't finish it.

This book was everything I dreamed it would be: pulpy, melodramatic, and gleefully gross. Yet metaphorically rich, so, bonus. (SO much better than Frankenstein, which is super boring.)

This is one of the more bizarre plotlines. With bizarre characters. Which don't fit together. The plot doesn't quite cobble enough for me. It's like a puzzle, where the edges of the pieces sort of lay on top of each other, instead of locking together. So you end up with Niagara Falls falling off backwards on the picture. There are some interesting statements made here, and a few scenes of good fun... but if you're going to read some Shakespeare? There are many other ones to read first.

Very fast paced and hard to put down, very good story.

Luminously gruesome. And I use neither word lightly.

I really enjoyed this book because it had everything in it, mystery, romance, faith! I had trouble putting it down!

I loved this book so much! I've always loved books about different types of aging (or not aging!), and this one intrigued me! I read this book for a school project, and I was suprised that I was one of the only students who liked it. I thought it was extremely well written and creative. Winnie comes from a well-to-do family, but longs for adventure outside of her house with her parents and grandmother. One day, she runs away from and meets the Tuck family. They drank from a magic spring and became immortal. This book is so well written and I would reccomend it for pre-teens.

An African Cinderella. Delightful.

I love the character of Jack Ryan. He exemplifies a "real man" in my eyes: someone who is inherently good, loves his family, and is courageous. I read several of Clancy's Jack Ryan books years ago, but found over time that they were laced with a little too much harsh language, violence, and other inappropriate content that didn't fit with my ever-increasing prudish standards. They are great reads though, and I can never get enough of Jack Ryan -- if only I weren't such a prude...

This wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be, but it was not the kind of book I would ever have picked up on my own. This is because it is pretty bad. It's not that I dislike chicklit as a genre so much as that it is not a genre I will forgive occasional badness in so long as it presses my buttons, and this was just all sloppy writing and uninteresting characters. Characters is kinda overstating it; they were more names plus associated collections of tics. But as I said, it was not as bad as I thought it would be. I liked the descriptions of the main character's wacky outfits. This book has a surprisingly perky cover for a book about death.
