Blog comment: I spent the nicest day yesterday-my entire family left to go and open up the cottage. It was so quiet and peaceful the whole day. I slept in, read (Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks, now finished), ate lots of pineapple. But the nicest thing was the silence-no blaring TV or loud music or people shouting through the house. I think maybe I am one of those people who are meant to live alone.

Beautiful. Amazing. Very catching. The pace was perfect and so was the story line. Descriptions of events was flawless. One of the greatest books I have ever read. I am willing to read it again and again and again.

Ok, here's the thing about this book, it's a good fantasy story for pre-teens. So I should probably be embarrassed that I read them both and will probably read the 3rd. The story is predictable and felt like it was written by a kid (which of course it was) However, considering he was 12 or something when he wrote it, it's pretty good. It's a fast read and if anyone wants to borrow them, let me know (don't buy them) P.S. There are talking dragons in this one.

More of a 4 and a half. Read this in preparation for Summer of You which I heard about on Smart Bitches and Dear Author, as they are linked novels. At first, I didn't like Phillipa, the heroine, because she was so snobby, but I liked how she changed and grew over the course of the novel. Loved the Beta Hero Marcus, and the spy story was a little different for most Regencies. I also liked the misdirection at the beginning where she seems to fall for one guy, and gradually sees him pale in comparison to our hero. "It's just me." was a great theme throughout (very apropos of our hero) with one notable exception, at the climax of a love scene. It *really* did not belong at that moment, and took me out of the scene. Immediately downloaded Summer of You on my Kindle to continue reading the saga.

The book shows black people are just like any normal person. Philip (the main character) is just figureing that out that because his mom told him in the begining of the book says they are different. A short summery of about what I already read will tell you how he is starting to figure out. Summery: Philip and his mom where riding on a boat to get away from the war. But while they are on a boat the boat gets torpedoed by a sumerene. They jump of the ship and when Philip trys to swim to his mom he gets hit in the head by somthing them gets knocked out. When he wakes up he sees a black man on a raft in front of him. The black man pulled him up and told him his name was Timothy. Philip head hurts so he sleeps. When he wakes up everything is blury so he goes back to sleep. Finally when he wakes up again he cannot see anything he notices he has gone blind! So pilip has to rely on Timothy to help him. After awile they Timothy sees a island so they get to the island and set up camp. Then set rocks next to each other to spell H-E-L-P. Durig this summery Timothy is takig care of Philip the hole way. That is how Philip knows black people are not so bad.

** spoiler uyarısı ** Genel olarak, kötü değil. Devam filmlerini okuyacağım (Monster Nation ve Monster Planet) ama umarım yazım gelişir. Düşünme zombi için temiz bir bükülme ama sonra Druid ve zihin kontrolü yönü ile atılmış. Hayatta kalanlar tarafından kurulan tuzaklar ve sürüme liderlik eden düşünce zombi ile birlikte gidecek kadar güvensizliği askıya alacağım, ama zihin kontrolü? Sadece mumyalar ustalık kazanır mı? Orada hiçbir açıklama olmadan çok fazla şey itildi. Yazarın ayarlarla iyi yaptığını düşündüm (bu yerlerin bazılarını dolaşmak hayatta kalanların karşılaşabileceği zorluklar için bana iyi bir fikir verdi) ve bazı problemler için iyi, inandırıcı çözümlere sahipti, ancak her zaman sadece bir şey itilecekti çok uzak.
