Blayne and Bo's story is one of my favorites-- as I was buying it I noticed a few so-so reviews about the chemistry between them, but I think that's what makes the story unique. It's not your typical shifter romance-- you've got one huge, serious kick ass hockey player and a hyper emotional kick ass wolfdog-- I loved their progress from strangers to friends to lovers. They may be weird, but they both have heart:) This is a great read if you love your shifter romance with humor and wit.

Lucas actually started quoting this one too me tonight, so i guess it made an impression. I don't find the plot entirely exciting myself. It does have its facts straight.

People who can see colors cannot possibly appreciate the taste, smell, sound, and feel of them as well as Thomas can. Thomas is blind, but in this color book, he shows that he knows the personalities of all the colors—and probably better than some sighted people. The book is black as night—but as we learn how Thomas sees color, we also get an impression of how there are different qualities to darkness, there are different aspects of black. Faría’s illustrations are all shiny embossing on the smooth, matte black paper, and so is the Braille translation that appears above the white text on each left-hand page. To Thomas, “Brown crunches under his feet like fall leaves. Sometimes it smells like chocolate, and other times it stinks.” The illustration of Brown is a scattering of leaves, at different angles. What’s genius here is that we can not only see the illustrations, but we can feel them. Both sighted and blind children can read the book, as it is written in both Braille and English (or Braille and Spanish), and it helps to bridge the gap between their very different worlds.

Janette Oke's books were among the first Christian romantic fiction books that I read-as a preteen/young teenager. This series in particular is probably my favorite of hers.

Moving. Dark. Tender. Poignant. A young, but powerful narrative voice. So well written. READ IT. READ IT. READ IT. If you are a fan of The Lovely Bones, this books is for you.

- I'm a HUGE Anne fan! We've been friends since I was a little girl. When I discovered this book, I knew I had to read it! - The book is very charming, and for the most part, stays true to the Anne series. - I wasn't really interested in the beginning. I enjoyed seeing Anne's parents, but they were portrayed as a bit silly. For example, the father made a big deal about Anne's name being spelled with an "e". It was silly. I was eager to get to Anne as a child. - The story started picking up when Anne was about 5 years old and she started developing that vivid imagination of hers. - I thought the author did a good job at capturing the tone of the Anne books. There were a few things that didn't seem right, but overall the book seems to fit in with the classic Montgomery books. - I loved reading about the things in Anne's past that I knew were going to happen, like creating Katie Maurice, the twins, etc. - Anne is such a hard worker, and she was SO under appreciated. My only consolation was that I knew how Anne's life would turn out, and I knew she would find Gilbert and be incredibly happy. - There were a few times when Anne's life could have taken a different path, and she would have had a better childhood, but then she wouldn't have gone to Green Gables to live with the Cuthberts. I just wanted to shout for Anne to hang in there because there was amazing future ahead of her! - I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who loves Anne and her stories. - I want to visit Prince Edward Island SO bad!!! I'm going someday! You guys can count on it!

This book is a great coffee table piece. It isn't an in-depth series. Basically it goes over the major belief points of many world religions. It's a good starter book!

I kept reading reviews suggesting Houellebecq was the resurrective answer to the perennial pronouncement of the novel's death. But, I found both these books (Platform, and the Elementary Particles) disappointing. They are not bad, as such, but don't seem by any stretch to take the novel in a new direction. Instead, they seem like novels born of the twentieth century's literary progression--Platform begins by recalling Camus' The Stranger--without taking wild deviating or "novel" turns. Plus, they are at times mired in the crass misanthropy of the characters (and the novelist?) and the rather depressing and perhaps hostile worldviews thereof.
