Since this book came out in the 90s, I've come back to read it several times when I feel my life is too complicated by stuff. Many good tips in the book, but like someone else pointed out there are tons of books and TV shows dedicated to simpifying your life now. I've moved on to the 100 (or less) personal items challenge now. This is a good starting place for someone who's feeling overwhelmed by things and wants a simpler life.

There is nothing very surprising about the plot of this book, you know what the ending will be. It is surprising how the author makes you become investd with these characters. It is both optimistic and very brutal. I liked it and would recommend it.

Reading Nostromo doesn’t give a moment peace, but lots of joy! Set in the fictitious South American republic of "Costaguana". He is tired of the political instability and corruption, so he suport totaliterian Ribiera (government), as he believes he will finally bring stability. Instead, he inspires a new round of revolutions which brings more chaos. Nostromo, is an Italian expatriate who has risen to his position through his daring exploits, respected by the wealthy Europeans but not able to command power among the local population. He is entrusted with removing the silver from Sulaco to keep it from the revolutionaries. His power continues to grow, as he rides over the mountains to summon the army which saves Sulaco's leaders from the revolutionaries. Feeling that he has risked his life for nothing, Nostromo is consumed by resentment, which leads to his corruption and ultimate destruction. Then he is shot and killed, mistaken for a trespasser, by the father of his fiancée. Seems a tad repetitive at times, but the examples and studies outlined are undeniably fascinating and help illuminate factors that producers and marketers need to take into account in approaching a potential audience. This would be a great tandem read with Martin Lindstrom's Buyology, which looks at the brain science underlying human desires and wants.

A mixed bag of short stories featuring romances with otherworldly individuals. A few vampires and werewolves, as expected, but my favorite tales involved a selkie and a gargoyle. With each story by a different author, some were better than others, but in general, these were a treat.
