Compelling story. However, I found most of this book almost too intense. Abby's struggle with her guilt is almost too painful to watch. My next book will be a mindless, funny, and entertaining book---maybe Janet Ivanovich. There was enough pain in this book to last me for several weeks.

I think that there was some valuable information in this book. So much so that I checked it out of the library in order to listen again so I can take more notes from it. I saw my father lose his memory and his sharpness. That broke my heart. I want to do everything in my power to prevent that from happening to me.

The first Ayn Rand book I read, amazing. Not quite in the sense that the book was amazing and that the literature was amazing but the idea of it, the freedom. But after reading the fountainhead this seemed not quite as good as it first seemed.

I loved this book! Micheal Burg is the main character, the book is about his reactions toward Hanna. It is about him discovering through Hanna his erotic awakening, then about him discovering the secret of Hanna (her illiteracy), and so, through Hanna, discovering the banality of evil. This book keeps up on the intensity between Micheal and Hanna. I LOVED IT!

While this book started out a little slower, it definitely picked up steam and finished strong! Cat is forced to deal with Apollyon as he begins to gather his ghoulish forces in a show of strength against the vampires. His attempts to gather in secret don't last very long, because Cat and Bones are contacted by some masterless vamps that are worried about disappearing friends. Cat and Bones are on the scene! Along to help are Spade & Denise, Mencheres & Kira and Vlad (he needs a lady!!). Cat receives mixed messages from Marie Laveau (hopefully she will figure them out before its too late). While I do enjoy a little romance, its always nice to follow a series with a couple that bickers a lot, loves a lot and stays together through it all! :0)

Love that this book does not apologize for Cleopatra, or reduce her statecraft to nothing more than "feminine wiles." Well done re-telling of a very familiar story.
